WINNERS

1 (4) Israel

Even if Serbia rebuilds its empire in the Balkans, there can be two good things said about the war. Croatia helped secure Albania's airstrike and congress, and also freed Israel from months of Serbian occupation. A previous attempt stalled at the 11th hour, failing to retake the last region, and allowing Serbs to secure their grip on the Israelis, but not this time. Israel has now been fully liberated, all five regions returned to their original hands, beating moderate Serb opposition. Israel may not have its alliance anymore, but it still has strong relations with many of its former members. It may be interesting to see what they will do now with lands.

Week rating: 9.1/10

2 (H2) Turkey

Frankly, it's been a relatively slow week. But Turkey found a way to get to its target. The Turks and Greeks have swapped enemies; while Greece is going to Bulgaria, Turkey has attacked FYROM. The Macedonians blocked off Turkey by liberating Saudi Arabia's second region, but Iran let Turkey through its lands, and suddenly, Turkey is invading through FYROM's northern chunk of its empire. So far, Turkey has come out victorious in very tight battles. The Turks have an extra front open now, as Russia has come in to help their FYROM allies in the fight. However, no blood has been shed on this front yet. If Turkey can manage the two fronts well, it could be very successful. But, that's a big if.

Week rating: 8.5/10

3 (NR) Romania

What's this? Allies coming to help? What a pleasant surprise! Romania was struggling while battling Bulgaria alone, but Greece has come along to help, attacking the Bulgarians as well. Romania has since been able to recover a large portion of its land, nearly pushing Bulgaria entirely out of its land. The Balkan war has picked up once more, but under different flags. Once EDEN vs CoTWO, now the battle is between (pro-)TWO and CoT nations. Romania is still split internally between pro-TWO and anti-TWO sentiments, but they are united versus the Bulgarians. Perhaps now with two fronts, Romania can secure its borders.

Week rating: 8.4/10

4 (B2) Serbia

Serbia escaped a world war. It's gonna happen eventually anyway, but Serbs avoided it happening on their enemies' terms. Aquitaine was liberated thanks to American influence, but Serbs retook the region, forcing America to wipe France, and held onto Aquitaine in a fierce RW battle against anti-TWO forces. In the Balkans, Serbia has wiped out Albanian and Bosnian resistance, and has begun fighting Croatia in an attempt to re-establish its massive blob. Serbia may have lost its hold on Israel, but outside of hindering its enemy, losing the regions does nothing to hinder the Serbs other than remove a draining RW. If Serbia eliminates Croatia, it at least has its empire secure.

Week rating: 8.2/10

5 (NR) Croatia

Or, perhaps, Croatia can do something about it. The Croats managed to get their ally into safety without any problems, and secured all of its home regions against Serbia. Of course, this will not be accepted by their endearing enemy. However, Croatia is putting a strong amount of resistance against the Serbs, and should at least put up a fight. It certainly has the lands to give a solid effort. However, the heartbreaking loss in Vojvodina may come back to haunt the Croats. They are, after all, now on the defensive. It's all one battle from being turned around. However, it's most likely that Serbia will wipe them from the Balkans once more. Although, there is another option. *pokes Slovenia*

Week rating: 7.8/10

Honorable Mentions: Spain, Malaysia

LOSERS

Just barely good enough: Canada, Albania

B5 (NR) Greece

Romania is example number one of the disparity between governments that are embracing change and new friendships and the people, mostly veterans, that cannot stand for shaking hands with their nemeses. Case and point, Saxony RW. Another example is right here: Greece. Greece's government is very open to the idea of joining TWO, or at least dip its foot into the ACT pool. TWO is as well, as they all welcomed Greece with open arms...except Serbia of course, who wanted to secure their resources before making a move. However, Greek congressmen emphatically shot down the proposal, once again proving that govs need the support of their players if they want to achieve anything. Then again, why would they want to join TWO's trial alliance? TWO may pretend to care about them, but it's all an...act? hehe...hehe...okay.....

Week rating: 4.1/10

B4 (5) India

India, another example of presidents not doing what the country wants. The Indians could have had something good. After all, by allowing Albania to occupy their region, for cash, no less, perhaps they could improve relations with both Albania and Croatia, even maybe securing a region for congress. However, with no progress made on that front, the disgruntled congress declared war on Albania when they received a region that was going to the Albanians. Perhaps justified rage, but it sure won't earn any points with their occupiers. Any progress that they made with settling a peaceful deal went down the drain in a snap. Without any serviceable allies, India most likely will be held down for some time longer.

Week rating: 3.6/10

B3 (NR) France

Not like America acted with any malicious intent. But still, the failure to conquer Aquitaine simply resulted in America wiping the French nation from the map. No doubt not an attack on French sovereignty, it still is a major inconvenience. France is slowly receiving its lands back, hence why they aren't any lower, but it's still quite a pain to be wiped because of a failed military strategy. France still has the northern ridge secure barring Polish Calais, but it could change at any moment with a move from either the Americans or the Polish. The nation is protected by America, but the looming war poses a great threat for their national security.

Week rating: 3.4/10

B2 (NR) USA

For all the attention that US-AIM has generated, it has done nothing of lasting value. Sure, it made a dent in Spanish holdings, but Spain has since secured everything again. Sure, Saxony fell in no small part thanks to America's independent militia. But Poland has linked up its colonies again. And America may have liberated Aquitaine, but guess who owns it once more? ...no guesses? Anyway, America, to its credit, has been trying to do more to hinder their enemies, but with the Americans unwilling to risk a war and face attacks from multiple sides, this is what they're relegated to do. Fine if it works, but America hasn't even taken Aquitaine from Serbian control. Instead, they're in the process of backing out from their ally France. What a shame.

Week rating: 2.7/10

B1 (L2) Bulgaria

Bulgaria's empire may not last for much longer. Romania was buckling against Bulgarian pressure, but now with Greece fighting the Bulgarians as well, their home regions at the very least are all but lost. Furthermore, with ally FYROM attacked from the north by Turkey, their northern border is suddenly insecure as well. Surely, the former EDEN nations' new TWO backing has made it all the more difficult to hold off their enemies. Bulgaria's main region of focus, of course, is their Saudi holdings, where they enjoy solid bonuses. But it's possible that with a rejuvenated opposition, it could be much more difficult to hold onto, especially with Greece longing for its empire back.
