WINNERS

1 (2) Argentina

Argentina didn't cough up such a great start. After a tightly contested early series of battles, Argentina marched into London with little issue, and as the war waged on, it was apparent to both sides that Argentina was destined to wipe the Brits. As British territories fell without a fight, Argentina celebrated a total victory with their Irish allies. However, instead of relaxing on the spoils of war, Argentina kept on fighting, liberating Buenos Aires from Spanish control and causing havoc for their conquerors in South America. Argentina now controls UK, and is looking to perhaps liberate their homeland as well.

Week rating: 9.8/10

2 (NR) Canada

Taking advantage of an opponent's weakness is key to being the successful underdog. Recurrently attacked by powerhouses such as Poland, and in this case Spain, Canada has often had to time their liberation well. And as Spain deals with Argentina's resurgent interest in South America, Canada has taken the opportunity to liberate its own regions, and has done so successfully, freeing three regions with Newfoundland and Labrador spearing the way. Along with a solid distraction in Venezuela, Canada played its part to, at least momentarily, overwhelm Spain. More free regions await for the Canadians. Obligatory HAIL CANADA!

Week rating: 9.6/10

3 (NR) Belgium

And to think, last week the tensions seemed to reach their apex. It was supposed to calm down, right? Right? Belgium and France appeared to avoid war, but the second time's the charm, as the French declared war, and this time it passed Congress. However, Belgium ruined France's first campaign under the EDEN flag, repelling a strike in Flanders and counterattacking in North Calais, capturing the tip of the French remnants after a tough campaign. Though Belgium had avoided the direct front for months, they have shown no signs of slowing down against their long-time rival. Belgium aims to conquer the fragments of the once-massive French nation.

Week rating: 8.8/10

4 (NR) Bulgaria

EDEN seems to have focused everything in Serbia, and in the process forgotten about all their other nations. That works perfectly alright for the Bulgarians. Handling both their home front and their colonies with ease, Bulgaria destroyed Greece and wiped them off Egypt with little effort while reconquering their home regions from Romania with similar amounts of tension. Cleaning up the native Saudis that had conquered southern Saudi Arabia, Bulgaria has now secured and even expanded its sizable empire in Egypt and Saudi Arabia, while also building up a chunk of land in the Balkans once more. Can Bulgaria possibly connect their two empires?

Week rating: 8.4/10

5 (5) Macedonia

Granted, Macedonia hasn't held down Iran by any sort of means. After wiping the Iranians in impressive fashion, the hangover was less glamorous, seeing two regions ceded back to Iran. Yet the gains in Greece more than make up for it, splitting Greece essentially in half and putting their archrival in danger of once again being wiped. However, Macedonia has since given Greece the initiative following a failed invasion of Peloponnese, leaving an opening for a possible push back. Yet, Macedonia has made great progress into Greek regions, and has reason to hope that the loss was but a fluke. Surely, they have the advantage.

Week rating: 7.9/10

Honorable Mentions: Ireland, Colombia

LOSERS

Just barely good enough: Saudi Arabia, Romania

B5 (NR) France

When the best thing that happened involving France wasn't even a creation of France's making, there's a little trouble afoot. France was an unwitting participant in the massive Serbian revolt, and for the first time in months liberated Aquitaine, cutting Serbs off from their path to America. Unfortunately, that was the only thing that went right for the French, as their invasion of Belgium failed massively. Even without possible British or Polish interference, France failed to take Flanders, and found North Calais occupied by their smaller enemy. Quite a humiliating start to what some call an aggression war.

Week rating: 3.8/10

B4 (L1) Greece

Greece saved itself from greater scrutiny by saving the Peloponnese Islands and nicking the initiative away from under Macedonia's nose. However, the performance up to that point was simply humiliating. Perhaps Greece was but a sacrifice for more important gains elsewhere, but it doesn't excuse the humiliating string of losses in the Middle East that saw them kicked out of their colonies, while the Macedonians simply steamrolled through lands with ease. Greece was simply humiliating, unable to recuperate from their failed attack in Asir a short while back. Luckily, late events have set the Greeks up for redemption. But they've dug themselves a hole.

Week rating: 3.5/10

B3 (NR) Serbia

Serbia could have ranked much lower had it not been for its good first steps to putting down the resistance. But once again, Serbia was no match, at least at first, for a well-organized, powerful combination of resistance wars. Unlike the previous attempt, in which Serbia just lost its immediate neighbors, which were easy to retake, the Serbs were hit even harder, also losing Aquitaine as well as the Haifa district in Israel. With two actual 'consolation' victories as possibilities for EDEN (liberating Israel, airstrike with Bosnia), the Serbs will have to work fast to suppress EDEN and prevent any sort of victory.

Week rating: 3.1/10

B2 (NR) Spain

Ironically, it was a resistance MU in Portugal, Spain's new de facto puppet, that caused all the ruckus. Spain appeared to have shown Argentina a lesson or two, conquering all of the Argie core regions in top form and precision. Then, the chaos ensued. Though usually the resistance wars give a threat but end up only draining damage, the fruits of labor tasted oh so sweet to Canadians, Argentinians, and Portuguese revolutionaries. While Canadian regions lost and even Buenos Aires liberated hurt, the toughest blow was undoubtedly losing Guyana, taken by Venezuela thanks to CUA and Asgard. Spain may face additional chaos yet.

Week rating: 1.9/10

B1 (B2) United Kingdom

At a certain point, the Brits just accepted the inevitable and allowed the Argies to walk around unopposed. The British fought a tough fight against the suddenly massive Argentinian military, but it wasn't enough, as towards the tail end of the series the Brits stopped showing up to the wars. Though Ireland is a weaker target and likely would be the easier target to start a liberation, the Argentinian presence won't make it easy for them. And with Spain and Serbia suddenly busy with internal issues, the Brits will have to (for the umpteenth time, the needy little *mumbles😉 rely on their Polish neighbors for liberation. And if Argentina and its allies can hold off Poland, there's no knowing how long Britain will stay occupied.
