WINNERS

1 (B2) Poland

Complete strategic and tactical success. Coming off a disappointing failure in Russia (come on, who ever conquers Russia!?), the Polish picked themselves back up and did what any superblob nation without a gold mine would do: airstrike Turkey. The invasion of Ankara in Central Anatolia went off without a hitch, and with Serbian support coming in from the south, there was little competition landing. While the EDENite forces finally showed up after a far-too-easy airstrike, Poland was still able to go undefeated, securing its goldmine after a threatening revolt was subdued. Poland may not have won a goldmine, but they got their hands on one mighty fast.

Week rating: 9.7/10

2 (B1) Argentina

Pulling a Hungary to France invasion, Argentina saved the trouble of marching through various countries to attack the United Kingdom by airstriking them directly. While mostly to stir up nationalism and interest for the sake of Argentina's baby boom, there were clear military motives as well, planning to crush a TWO nation where Ireland on its own could not. And Argentina's plans have gone swimmingly well, holding off massive TWO support and going undefeated, starting with East Midlands and stringing together a streak of four victories and encapsulating London. With the British clearly on the defensive, Argentina is leaving its homeland behind to absolutely wreck the British.

Week rating: 9.6/10

3 (NR) Bulgaria

Greece utterly dominated Bulgaria in the early battles. Well, they won unbelievably close battles, which hurts even more. But Bulgaria made progress elsewhere, freeing its regions in the homeland and liberating them from the Romanians, and more importantly, holding onto said regions. However, Bulgaria finally held on and repelled the Greek army, and with the help of Macedonia cut the Greek front from Egypt. With a foothold already in Egypt themselves, Bulgaria is but a couple of victories from securing its empire. But the battles must be fought first. Tanking on both sides await.

Week rating: 8.6/10

4 (NR) Ireland

One island, one nation. That was Ireland's rallying cry for the war, and so far, it's certainly worked. The British-Irish relations have deteriorated over the last few weeks after progressive talks, and with Ireland joining CUA, it was simply the hay that broke the camel's back. With Argentina being the main power in the attack, Ireland took more of a sidekick role, played to near perfection. After conquering Northern Ireland and capturing Scotland, they met overwhelming resistance in Wales, and lost hold of Scotland. Yet, the Irish held strong and kept Northern Ireland, and repelled a British counterstrike. Now, with Argentina occupying half of UK, the Irish are prepared to keep the offensive.

Week rating: 8.3/10

5 (B3) Macedonia

Well, mission accomplished on all fronts, it appears. Suppress Iran and put them on a brink of wipe? Check. Free home regions to harass Romania and prepare for a Greek attack while keeping its bonuses in Saudi Arabia and United Arab Emirates? Check. Ruin Greece's day by sticking its foot in Sinai and preventing a reconnect? Triple check. Macedonia did all the little things right, culminating in a very successful week. While expanding in Iran with little issue and snatching its home regions back, it also supported its Bulgarian ally by blocking long-hated Greece from possibly connecting by simply recapturing Tabuk. Macedonia did well, both serving its own needs and supporting its allies. Well done.

Week rating: 7.9/10

Honorable Mentions: Chile, Croatia

LOSERS

Just barely good enough: Greece, Romania

B5 (NR) Norway

Not much Norway can do. With Asgard sacrificing their own regions for support in the UK, there wasn't much stopping a Germarkian invasion of the minor Scandinavian country. With even Canada and Sweden wiped, there was little resistance as Germark occupied the remaining two regions. Luckily for Norway, the friendly Russian government reclaimed its rented region before Lithuania could conquer it indefinitely. With the liberation of its larger members surely Asgard's priority (or maybe I'm lying 😉), Norway may have to be patient for its liberation, for there is no one in the area with the power to liberate them. Patience...

Week rating: 3.2/10

B4 (NR) Malaysia

Oh come on, I bet half of you didn't even notice! C'mon, show a raise of hands! Who didn't even notice Malaysia being wiped? *counts hands* Malaysia's one of those handful of nations where they have people that want to make a difference, but not enough power or connections to do so. Unfortunately, having a weak military and no allies of note make them the perfect target for Montenegro's airstrike. Combined with Thailand's simultaneous invasion by land, the two-pronged ACT attack simply overwhelmed Malaysia. It's not simply being occupied, it's having no way out that hurts the Malaysians the most.

Week rating: 2.5/10

B3 (NR) Iran

Iran's a proud country, and it's recently signed a gesture of friendship with their neighbors Ukraine. But, they're just no match for Macedonia. Iran can put up a good fight with support, but alone they just don't pack the punch their Balkan enemies do, and that showed clearly, as Iran simply caved in against their aggressors, hemorrhaging region after region with little resistance. With Macedonia with a strong presence and showing no signs of leaving, Iran will have to find support somehow, and find someway to repel the invasion. At this point, it's a dead man walking.

Week rating: 2.3/10

B2 (NR) United Kingdom

The British fought valiantly against a nation 11x their size. They even managed to hold off the pesky Irish for a triumphant moment. But alas, CUA has overrun the nation. Even with an overwhelming amount of support from TWO (take it sarcastically or don't, your call), the Brits were unable to hold off the Argentinians, as four regions have succumbed to the airstrikers from South America. While the battles have been more favorable on the Irish front, repelling Wales and reclaiming Scotland, the Brits were unable to land on the western British Isle, being repelled at Wexford. UK has to find a way to beat Argentina, or else France won't have time to break the treaty and invade. 😉

Week rating: 1.6/10

B1 (NR) Turkey

The irony, I must point out, is that by Turkey tanking to fight off their invaders, they won the goldmine, and thus made themselves an even bigger target. Yeah, there was some CoTWO tanking for Turkey to manipulate it, sure, but the point is, Turkey got a goldmine that was reserved for China, and Poland lept on it. And what can Turkey do? There's no way for a peace deal since the goldmine's invaluable, so Turkey can only sit there and accept their fate. While they attempted a good effort in Ankara, it was clear at a point that the Turks are overmatched. Somebody, anybody, everybody, help!
