Weekly Power Rankings #3; Facepalms Worldwide

Day 1,663, 22:34 Published in Canada Canada by Shoi12

Welcome to another edition of the eRepublik Power Rankings! Here are the rules; the efforts of the top five countries this week will be recognized, and the five worst performances will be mocked, no exceptions! Countries are recognized for many things, including successful defending, securing strong alliances, and, of course, conquering rivals. Without further ado, let's begin!

WINNERS

1 (NR) Latvia

Well done, Latvia. While they didn't gain many lands for themselves, they succeeded in freeing their friend Estonia from Finnish occupation. Not only did they free Estonia, they pushed into Finnish lands and did so flawlessly. While Latvia didn't do much for itself, its liberation of ally Estonia give it the top spot.

Week rating: 8.2/10

2 (NR) North Korea

Our favorite dictator state took on superpower China and won! Yes, the country that didn't exist two weeks ago has now reestablished itself. It's now up to a modest three provinces. Besides breaking free, it also managed to survive the surprisingly strong assault China has sent. While Serbia has struggled against China, North Korea has stood strong.

Week rating: 7.9/10

3 (5) Bulgaria

Bulgaria got an opportunity and ran with it, finishing off the suddenly ostracized Turkey and rebuilding the Bulgarian nation at its height. It's also now set up to expand into the south through Cyprus or Israel. Barring another Turkish mass revolution, things look good for Bulgaria.

Week rating: 7.4/10

4 (B1) Spain

Being occupied sucks, and Spain finally got the memo. The world's largest population made quick of distracted China, seizing back all of China's progress while they moved on to Italy. They also took all of Portugal's Spanish lands back. While in all truth their opponents did not give their all, managing to take back everything in such a short time is impressive.

Week rating: 6.9/10

5 (H1) Croatia

Croatia's soldiers have long been well renowned for their talents and abilities, and finally they got around to freeing their own lands. Harassing Serbia in two fronts, they managed to reclaim most of its homeland, as well as a foothold onto southern Italy. It now has the chance to help out its allies even more than before, as well as reclaiming its own chance at glory.

Week rating: 6.8/10

Honorable Mentions: Poland and Ukraine

LOSERS

Just barely good enough: Columbia and Portugal

B5 (NR) Serbia

Serbia is looking much more vulnerable now. Attacked by 5 fronts, Serbia gave up lands in B&H, Italy, and Croatia, and is not looking as if it can stop the hemorrhaging. With revolts springing up north and south, it's not looking good for the perennial superpower.

Week rating: 3.5/10

B4 (L2) Romania

Hungary came back home to find its lands under Romanian occupation, and caught the Romanians off guard. Romania lost nearly half of its impressive empire in the span of a week, and is on the verge of a total collapse. It has proven unable to save any of its lands, even their homelands, and there's no one around to save them. Things don't look good.

Week rating: 3.1/10

B3 (NR) Greece

Protecting the Macedonia name won't work if you can't protect against the Macedonian army. (See what I did there? No? ...Screw you) While Greece did manage to hold off Egypt, it's little compensation for losing to bitter rival FYROM, almost losing the entire foothold in the Balkans. When their best hope is from Israel, there's something wrong with the country.

Week rating: 3.0/10

B2 (3) Finland

How does such a successful campaign turn into a trainwreck in the blink of an eye? After Finland's wipe of Estonia, it looked prepared to crush Latvia as well, but found themselves overpowered. They quickly lost all their modest gains in the course of a week, giving up all Estonian lands, and found themselves invaded and begging for peace. Not the way to finish a campaign.

Week rating: 2.4/10

B1 (B5) Turkey

There's no explanation for how Turkey even managed to gain the upper hand at all in the war. After their first week of success, they haven't looked anything resembling a united country, and Bulgaria finished the job, putting Turkey back in its place. Turkey also faces animosity from many 'allies' within EDEN and Terra who want them out of EDEN. So besides being wiped, they look to have no allies in their quest to come back. Arrivederci!

Week rating: 0/10
