Countries are recognized for many things, including successful defending, securing strong alliances, and, of course, conquering rivals. Without further ado, let's begin!

WINNERS

1 (H1) Serbia

Nothing is sweeter than crushing a mortal enemy. Serbia's campaign to destroy Greece has gone very well after a slow start, piercing through Albania to reach Epirus while going through Italy to reach Crete. Serbia has been the main force in a group of mighty nations that has humbled grand EDEN power Greece, pushing them off of the continent. Serbia also managed to keep their other regions mostly in check, holding off a well-funded Croatian revolt in South Dalmatia by the slimmest of margins and only losing one region to a passionate but weak Bosnia, which in all likelihood will be dealt with swiftly. Serbia is on the verge of clearing out the Balkans once and for all.

Week rating: 9.5/10

2 (B5) Chile

Chile's managing its dual fronts much better than last week. Thanks to threats of a Peruvian NE, the Aussies were persuaded, with the help of the military, to let Chile recapture two regions over in the island nation, while the Chileans also made progress in reclaiming their home in the mountains, marching their troops south and seizing provinces. Now that Chile is occupying their ally New Zealand's lands, at least for the time being, Chile has a path between the two continents, and can easily release the kiwis in case of a counterattack. Chile is holding up its two-front war much better.

Week rating: 9.1/10

3 (H2) Finland

With Latvia and Lithuania both distracted in Swedish territory, Finland finished off Estonia. Again. But this time, as both other members of ABC are already busy, there was no counterattack by enemy forces to quickly liberate Estonia. Finland has been able to keep control over their rival nation, suppressing the revolts and preparing to launch a second attack on Latvia to support their Swedish allies. Furthermore, they cleared out the last remnants of Polish occupation with the recapturing of Aland. For a nation that was wiped just a few days ago, Finland has made a brilliant comeback.

Week rating: 8.6/10

4 (NR) Japan

Japan's taking advantage of the huge mess in Taiwan, successfully recapturing a couple of regions to bring their total up to three. Furthermore, America has arrived to do battle with the Taiwanese, which should greatly help the Japanese draw attention away from their RW attempts. Due to this and increased CoT support in their revolts, they've had a much more successful campaign than previous attempts to reclaim their fallen nation. If they can convince the Americans not to go after them as well in their attempts to take down the Taiwanese, Japan has much to gain from this war.

Week rating: 8.4/10

5 (NR) Brazil

Brazil has been slowly shifting sides from a pro-EDEN stance to a CoT sympathizer, and took a big step in the process, successfully passing a few crucial MPPs in Congress. Yes, while Brazil made few direct territorial gains, they made great leaps in many other fronts. Their retreat from the Philippines prevented the Chinese from threatening to attack, while their transition in allies is proceeding as planned. America's willingness to attack an EDEN member for their sake has to feel good for the Brazilians, who had to have been worried that America might value EDEN over them. Overall, for a uneventful military week, Brazil did brilliantly.

Week rating: 8.3/10

Honorable Mentions: Albania, Spain

LOSERS

Just barely good enough: New Zealand, Italy

B5 (1) Australia

Poor Aussies. After reaching three regions, the Aussies have met fierce Chilean resistance as well as the looming threat of a Peru NE, and have since lost all their regions to Chile. While Australia managed to win enough D3 battles in earlier battles to push them over the hump along with their D4 victories, Chilean troops were mostly successful in holding down the Aussie D3, even splitting the D4 battles often. Australia managed to hold onto their regions long enough to elect a Congress, but were not able to sustain their regions against the stronger Chileans. Australia will have to start from scratch once again.

Week rating: 3.5/10

B4 (NR) Estonia

Estonia has always been the one getting wiped by Finland, not the other way around. Estonia was apparently confused by this concept, but luckily for them, Finland showed Estonia their error and quickly mended it, coming back from a wipe themselves to wipe the Estonians. All joking aside, Estonia stood little chance against the Finnish troops, defeated once again by a simply superior force. With Latvia busy battling Sweden, there's not much that Estonia did right, capitulating to the Finns and allowing them to secure a second front. Estonia's defeat shows the utter flaws that tore ABC apart.

Week rating: 3.1/10

B3 (NR) Taiwan (ROC)

Taiwan's had a relatively large empire, especially thanks to a generally weaker East compared to the powers in the West (Balkans much?), controlling South Korea, Japan, and securing two regions of ally Philippines as well. With the attack of America, however, Taiwan's empire has been thrown into disarray. Even beforehand, Japan had not only secured its independence but expanded back to three regions, and South Korea had a similar, if less noticeable gain, taking a region back themselves. While they managed to repel America's frankly pathetic attempt at landing in Hokkaido, their nation is in shambles because of it. Support from fellow EDEN ally China would be a huge benefit, but a far-fetched hope.

Week rating: 2.9/10

B2 (2) Portugal

Portugal was doing surprisingly well, but then again, they weren't facing the full force of the Spanish army. As Portugal reached its fourth province, Spain started throwing their troops into the Iberian nation full-force, quickly recapturing all the breakaway lands and defeating the Portuguese. Portugal has to be dismayed at the fact that as soon as Spain started trying, they stood no chance against them, despite their greatest efforts. Luckily for Portugal, they managed to secure a Congress, but like Australia, they haven't the lands to show for it. Portugal will have to start from scratch once again in this never-ending war.

Week rating: 2.4/10

B1 (3) Greece

Well, what can you do? Even the mighty Greece, birthplace of Plato, has its limits, as Greece had its entire nation completely slaughtered. Against the powers of Serbia, Bulgaria, and Macedonia, Greece lost battle after battle, and ended up losing all its regions in the Balkans for a brief moment, though they did manage to recapture Central Greece after some time. For the most part, however, Greece has fallen back completely to its Egyptian and Saudi Arabian colonies, with Turkey giving them a helping hand by covering up Lower Egypt to give any TWO invasion a fighting chance. Greece will need all the help it can get if it's to return in any shape and form to the Balkans.
