Weekly Power Rankings #14; Refreshed, Reanimated, Redead

Day 1,748, 05:15 Published in Canada Canada by Shoi12

Welcome to another edition of the eRepublik Power Rankings! Here are the rules; the efforts of the top five countries this week will be recognized, and the five worst performances will be mocked, no exceptions! Countries are recognized for many things, including successful defending, securing strong alliances, and, of course, conquering rivals. Without further ado, let's begin!

WINNERS

1 (5) Croatia
For all the craziness Croatia has done, this is one of its most enterprising endeavors, and so far, it has worked. It has been clear to many players that Croatia cannot survive in a Fellowship-controlled Balkan, so when Croatia found themselves freed, they made a dash for it. Airstriking a generous Malaysia, Croatia now has a safe base that is far away from most Fellowship forces, and has also kept its foot in the Balkans, and has continued its Southeast Asian trek, conquering Thailand at a rapid pace.

Week rating: 9.4/10

2 (B1) Argentina
Turns out Argentina isn't dead after all. Bulgaria was coming for everything and the kitchen sink, and along with its CoT buds, Argentina seemed unready for a tough fight for its sovereignty. But after going to hell and back, the Argentineans got their act together, managing to regain initiative in a few of its fronts, thanks to a new focus on Paraguay and coordinated revolts on the Bulgarian front. After some difficult battles, the threat is all but over, save for a furious Chile. Things look up for the Argentineans.

Week rating: 8.8/10

3 (NR) Spain

Spain has had a bit of trouble taking down the pesky Portuguese, but things changed the last few days, with Poland getting an opportunity to enter the fight themselves. Spain quickly took advantage, sweeping across the Portuguese landscape and slaughtering all resistance with their Polish allies. Spain has successfully wiped their greatest nemesis and is getting its colonies back from America. The Spanish should feel strong about their progress.

Week rating: 8.4/10

4 (NR) Poland

Poland's been spreading like a deadly virus, and it infects TEDEN nations! After a peace deal that secured half of France's former land under its control while keeping borders to the west, the Poles got the jump on a Canadian tactical error, protecting the Brits and nearly destroying Canada completely before turning their eyes to flailing Portugal, putting them out of their misery. The only reason they're not ranked higher is because of the resistance movement; one French province ceded to Poland has already found its way back to the French, and other revolts continue. Can Poland hold onto its strong gains?

Week rating: 8.1/10

5 (NR) USA

Fun fact of the day: did you know that until the Vietnam War, the Americans never decisively lost a war? (War of 1812 aside, Canucks) America has had a knack of being overly nosy, but it's always had a powerful military to back it up. And the Indo war has again proven the point, as after a brief stalemate America swept the floor with the Indos in later battles. But what's proving interesting is America's decision to return Indonesian lands and Spanish colonies to purge out players living there only for bonuses. Curious indeed, Yankees…

Week rating: 7.3/10

Honorable mentions: Hungary, Chile

LOSERS

Just barely good enough: Portugal, Ukraine

B5 (NR) Canada

There's a reason why Canadians should have been cautious before attacking the UK. But, one blitz and mutiny later, Canada found itself fighting Poland (not a healthy part of a complete breakfast). At least the Canadians had the brains to know it was a hopeless fight and spend their weapons elsewhere. But had it not been for some quick negotiating and white-flag-waving, Canada would be living in Poland's house right now. But with Poland busy against the Irish, Canada may be able to flip their lost provinces back in a jiffy.

Week rating: 3.5/10

B4 (B4) Indonesia

Blame democracy, blame bad defenses, blame anything. But the net result is the same. Indonesia, the mighty nation blessed with a geographic godsend, was humbled by none other than the Americans. Crushed and torn from a vast empire to a nation without land to claim as its own, Indonesia was utterly humiliated by the combined American and Australian forces. Although America has decided to return the provinces captured by its forces, Indonesia needs to rebuild and avoid the same fate in the future.

Week rating: 3.1/10

B3 (NR) Thailand

Turns out the Malaysians had it out for them the entire time. After starting a seemingly foolproof plan (beat up India for its lunch money), Malaysia hatched an ingenious plan. Allowing Croatia to borrow the Malaysian landscape for a 'camping trip' (wink wink), the Croats stormed Thailand and slaughtered its men and pillaged the villages, showing that as much as Bulgaria and Hungary try, Croatia is the true world-traveling conqueror. As for Thailand, a painful death seems to be but a moment away.

Week rating: 2.4/10

B2 (NR) Belarus

NOOOO, NOT BELARUS!!!! If this wasn't a declaration of war by the Baltic states, I don't know what is. But just as it had happened many a day ago, Belarus once again faced a two-front attack from Latvia and Lithuania, and once again had no answer. The only difference was in the province allocation (Lithuania got 4 and Latvia 2 instead of the even split like last time). With Russia busy looking the other way and Finland running around Estonia, Belarus may be in for another long period of occupation. NOOOO, NOT BELARUS!!!!

Week rating: 1.4/10

B1 (1) Bulgaria

Wasn’t the 'kick Argentina in the teeth' plan working super well? Bulgarians must be in shock after getting the boot not only from South America, but from the entirety of the map. Granted, Chile's success kinda balances it out, but facts are facts. If Bulgaria's plan was to move out of the Balkans and make a home next to its Chilean, Paraguayan, and Peruvian allies, it's not happening. Bulgaria continues to fight to take down Argentina in the shadows, but as far as owning land themselves, they'll find that they're out of luck.

Week rating: 1.1/10
