Welcome to the inaugural edition of the eRepublik Power Rankings! Here are the rules; the efforts of the top five countries this week will be recognized, and the five worst performances will be mocked, no exceptions! Countries are recognized for many things, including successful defending, securing strong alliances, and, of course, conquering rivals. Without further ado, let's begin!

WINNERS

1 (NR) Turkey

What can happen in a week? How about going from being wiped to suddenly being the powerhouse in Asia Minor? It was a difficult task, but Turkey managed to break free from its oppressors, and have seized an astonishing 10 provinces! It captured all 7 of its original provinces, and hasn't stopped there; it has started a successful campaign on Bulgarian lands. Way to go, Turkey! *high-five* It has the upper hand in its battle against Bulgaria, and in a 1v1 fight, it appears that Turkey is hours away from wiping Bulgaria! Can't get much better than that, can you?

Week rating: 10/10

2 (NR) Greece

Down to mere fragments of its once proud empire, Greece started a counter-assault at the end of last week, and has continued its rampage, conquering all of its former lands, and at one point had captured the core province of Povardarie before ceding it and Epirus at the wee hours of Friday. Still, a mostly successful push, coupled with Albania's harassing, has helped it secure its hold on traditionally Greek lands. Not a bad week, Greece.

Week rating: 8.8/10

3 (NR) United Kingdom

We don't like the UK here on our side of the war, but give credit where credit is due; it managed to RW all of its core lands back from Canada, and has started an RW in Scotland for whatever reason. While the Canadians have long wanted to back out of English lands, it failed to hold onto the three provinces that they did desire, which contained oil and the path from said oil to Canada's motherland. The UK has pushed all invaders away from its lands just days after being fully wiped. Not too shabby, UK.

Week rating: 8.5/10

4 (NR) Italy

Italy doesn't get many points in terms of conquering back all of its lands. After all, it only managed to claim back some lands via RW because of Slovenia's unwillingness to stay in Italy. However, Italy gets its due because of the position it was in just a week ago. Down to its last province, many assumed a merciless wipe was on its way. Italy's surprising survival and counterattack deserve some props.

Week rating: 8.1/10

5 (NR) China

China hasn't been fighting many countries on its level of power as of late, but it makes up for its lack of quality with a large quantity. Besides beating up North Korea, it has successfully made its way through South America to attack, of all countries, Spain! It gets points just for such a ridiculous trek just to get to Spain, and successfully invading Andalucia and Murcia give it a spot on the leaderboard.

Week rating: 7.5/10

Honorable mentions: Portugal and Belarus

LOSERS

Just barely good enough: Denmark and Spain

B5 (NR) Switzerland

What happens when a strong country gets beat up by a stronger country? It gets upset and beats up on a poor country trying to stay invisible. Such was the case with Germany and Switzerland. After Germany's unsuccessful RWs, it looked for an easy target to expand towards and found hapless Switzerland taking a nap during border patrol. Poor Switzerland. The only thing it has to look forward to is a surprisingly strong resistance in its conquered lands.

Week rating: 3.3/10

B4 (NR) Chile

Getting wiped usually isn't a wise option. Apparently Chile missed the message, and got crushed by Argentina as a result. If terrain was a factor (grumble), the result may have turned out differently, but as of now, Chile is completely under Argentinian occupation. The only reason Chile's not lower on the scale is because it never was a power to begin with, while the worst offenders this week were.

Week rating: 2.5/10

B3 (NR) FYROM

Boy oh boy. As late as 10 days ago, FYROM looked ready to become the powerhouse of the region. With Bulgaria strong at its side, it appeared that ONE had taken the region. However, letting its guard down, FYROM let a country with only islands left in the region push back and conquer all of its hard-earned progress, even letting it seize some of the Macedonian homeland. The only bright point in its awful week was the successful recapturing of Epirus at the eleventh hour.

Week rating: 2.4/10

B2 (NR) Austria

The mighty Austria. They have proven the flaws to neutrality; in 30 hours Austria went from a respectable force in Central Europe to a government without land to claim as its own. Invaded by both Terra/EDEN and ONE at the same time, its one alliance of Montenegro wasn't nearly enough to save it from complete annihilation. The shockingly successful RW in Lower Austria wasn't enough to hide its disaster week.

Week rating: 1.6/10

B1 (NR) Bulgaria

Countries are never too powerful to collapse, and Bulgaria showed the New World this. Owning all of Turkey seemed too good to be true, and indeed it was; Turkey has not only come back on the map, but has gotten the upper hand, taking Bulgaria's homelands and split Bulgaria right in two. Bulgaria has put up decent fights in defending its motherland, but has so far proved incapable of even defending its lands, much less take back what they claim to be theirs. If nothing changes, expect the Bulgarian dynasty to be fully replaced by the Turks by Monday morning.

Week rating: 0.8/10
