Week in Politics 17th March 2009

Day 483, 14:33 Published in Ireland Ireland by Igor Thunderbrow

Dia dhiaobh arís,

This has been a rather quiet week in congress. No proposals to vote on this week. However there were the party election, some advancement with the IDF and congressional moves towards ratifying our membership into the European Social Alliance (ESA). Also I recently found that we have only 25 congressmen left.

Party Elections

Party Elections were very boring this time round.

IUP:
Igor Thunderbrow (23)

FF
Anton Sidequest (9)

IFP
5n4keyes (7)

ISRP
Theus Jackus (25)
Thomas Page (😎

IF and IP
No election

My observations:
1) Ireland First and the Irish Party seem almost completely dead at this stage.
2) IFP is not going great at all
3) ISRP should be very happy getting the highest turnout
4) FF should be reasonably happy that they are building up at least a bit.
5) IUP should be satisfied with turnout but disappointed in low turnout, however lack of competition in the election may have influenced that.

Irish Defence Forces
I have finally gotten on top of the paperwork and sorted out the IDF roster:
http://www.erepublik-ie.com/IDF/defence.php

We still however need a fair number of officers. If you are interested in commanding a battalion please contact me asap.

Recruitment form to be found at:
http://www.erepublik-ie.com/IDF

ESA
The proposal by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Kiemar, for eIreland to join the European Social Alliance (ESA). This was approved unaminously by congress member son the forum and he is moving towards ratifying our membership and choosing our ESA representative (nominating himself, he is the only candidate so far I believe).

I support our membership but I can't help feeling that the lack of a referendum was rather undemocratic. I would like to see the fate of our country depending on more than just the 11 votes that were cast on the forums.

Congress Bannings

We now have only 25 congress members, at the start of the term we had 40. I have spent a bit of time investigating where they all went and here is what I foun😛

At the start of term Now Change
IUP 9 7 -2
ISRP 8 7 -1
IFP 17 5 -12
FF 1 1 n/a
IF 5 5 n/a

So where did the 15 go:

Irish Union Party:
Leo Ruby : left the country
irish_rebel: BANNED

ISRP
Theus Jackus: Elected President

Irish Freedom Party
Fritter
J D
citizen lewwy
cosmoguy
BenSheppard
Carrottop
crock1468
callofduty64
Wyvern09
Shigsy
ECP8R
jrrwalsh

Each and every one of them.... BANNED

Now look at my previous article:
http://www.erepublik.com/en/article/ifp-odd-elections-742958/1/20

Compare the lists, They are remarkably similar if not identical. Investigative journalism does work.

This means that eIreland is seriously underrepresented but at least we have 13 less multis to worry about.

Until next week

go raibh míle maith agaibh go léir,
