We should all take a chill pill

Day 853, 16:27 Published in USA USA by Gaius Julius

So things don't see to be going very well lately, some countries (the US, Australia even Canada) spreads rumors about leaving EDEN. Essentially we are all at each others throats over one thing or another. To be honest, my mind is in two places so I'll start with this point.

I love EDEN, and to be honest my activity and continued participation in this game are tied to EDEN. I have experienced sleepless nights, lack of attention in college classes and have even stopped drinking (at one point) for this alliance. Most of my friends from this game are a result of my EDEN contacts (Crista22, Durruti, Shoot, Lavanche, Cerber) I could go on and on about these people how they have shaped my game experience. See, because at the end of the day EDEN was always about brotherhood first and we have ALL forgotten this. Maybe we forgot to pass this important lesson on to newer players. A lot of the "anti X country" comments I see come from people lvl 19 down. So let me remind my EDEN brothers (US, Poland and everyone) of a few things.

Defending countries is at the core of EDEN, a lot of comments from everyone revolve around &quot😉on't come crying when you get attacked" or "We we're there for you, you owe us". What I don't remember from any EDEN defensive or offensive actions was anyone keeping track of this supposed "debt". When EDEN saved the US and Canada, I don't remember anyone saying "alright now you are required to support everything we ever do". Nor do I remember the US making the same demands when we spent more gold than Croatia defending them from Hungary and Serbia.

Similarly, cooperation on offense was never about who gave more or who neglected to show. The US did not run around bragging when US troops spent 12 days deployed to Spain/Poland closing the French and German fronts. Likewise when Spain carried the allied support effort in Liaoning they felt no need to trumpet their effort. Alliances don't work on an after the fact collection system, nor do they work on any such idea. EDEN has been successful not when we focus on who let down allies on an offensive or defensive, but on how we can improve and move forward.

Our situation boils down to this; we are sitting here trading jabs of skewed statements and actions. Trolling allies and using words such as traitors or cowards is a slippery slope. The nation you push out today is the nation that may become a key ally for an enemy tomorrow (didn't we learn that from the UK?). Where does the pushing stop? what happens when the next country messes up? Is it shuffled under a mat to be ignored or do we push that country out? Will it only stop when we all sit alone ties broken and every accusation made? I do not have these answers. I certainly never intend to point fingers at countries or people who have messed up or haven't lived up to all my expectations. God knows if I did I would spend the next month throwing out anecdotes of everyone's screw ups.

We are at a crossroads, we can move together in Brotherhood and in unity or we can let this schism happen. Both will be tough, however this alliance can continue and I believe it should. I would stake everything I have done in this game and for other countries on EDEN. I will spend every waking minute trying to hold this alliance together (despite any leadership position or elected mandate) because I never believed in Hail Romania, or Hail US or Hail Spain, only Hail EDEN.

p.s. While we all debate who is a good ally and what not, I'll be busy fighting in Rhone Alps 😛
