War declaration on Brazil

South Africa has declared war on Brazil.
Let me explain. We've signed a contract with Brazil that has them attacking and me retreating from three of our regions: KwaZulu-Natal, Mpumalanga and North-West Province.
Why? Well, 30 congress seats are easier to defend than 40. Yes, that also goes in the reverse for the channers, but we need some consolidation to defend the country against them. I think you all realise that this is a drastic measure, but I hope that makes it clear to you that this is a serious situation. We can't waft through the next elections hoping shit will turn out ok. It won't.
The war declaration will take 24 hours and then Brazil needs to wait another 24 hours to attack due to game machanics. In this period, you are encouraged to write to the eSouth Africa Health Center and request MTs so you can move to our remaining three regions Limpopo, Free State and Eastern Cape (I encourage the first two regions due to a hospital).
Like it or not, Brazil is one of the countries we have a good relationship with. They've offered to help us against the channers in the only way that's going to have any effect on them. They're paying for everything and replacing our hospital.
I'm bracing myself for a shit storm. People also criticised me for implementing the Golden 10 to defend from Ajay's PTO and that worked.
Listen, I would never do anything to endanger the security and prosperity of eSouth Africa. You all know that. But you must also understand that if we don't use game mechanics to the full extent in which they're legal, we won't have a country to care about anymore.
The channers did this to Venezuela. Do you think the admins did anything about it? No. I'm not going to rely on some randoms in America who care more about making gold and watching wars break out than defending the honest players who give a shit.
If this gets them to make some multi investigations of their own and flex the ban hammer muscles, good. If this gets the channers shit scared, good. If Brazil takes advantage of the contract, fuck. But that's life. Taking risks is part of this game.
The loudest complainers will be the channers, obviously. I want us to stand united as eSouth Africans in this, ride out this storm and not go behind each other's back.
Congress has approved this measure. I expect all congressmen to deal with that fact and support the government in this.
There's a plan beyond this people. Please know this. Some people are bitter about being left out of it, but that's just the way life goes. I'm getting tired of saying this (cause you either do or you don't), but trust me on this.
My philosophy: rather deal with the devil we know. 😉

You don't HAVE to wait. You can 'hand off' initiative by attacking then retreating.

This sounds more like a thought-through negotation than an act of war. Game mechanics lead to convoluted solutions like this, but you've established a relationship with Brazil based on good faith and understanding.

Obviously this isn't the ideal situation, but actions have to be taken to protect eSA. With the contract in place we face no real danger so it seems like a good plan madame President.
Brazil is trying hard to make a good image to everybody, I really think that we'll honor our word.

The crowd goes "WUHUU Ines!" not understanding the situation. I am completely againts this (No I am no channer). Brazil will most definetely take advantage of this situation. I would aswell. It would be very naive and stupid to actually believe they wouldn't. It is not like they would have any disadvantage from that. Okay, Brazil will only have the regions temporarily and they are paying us for this and buying us a new Q5 hospital. This is a good deal and they won't really have the chance to attack Australia. Also, even if eBrazil tries to take advantage of us, we can just beat them back. I mean SOL was able to fend off Indonesia and SOL can do it again with Brazil.
Seisan, that and the fact that violating the terms will result in them wasting MORE gold on getting us a Q5 defense system.
I see a couple things wrong with this idea.
First, I see nothing in the contract to ensure these regions are returned to us. The contract just states "Brazil will hold the regions, in the maximum, until 3 January 2010". It doesn't state who will be taking control of the provices after that date. Brazil need not return them to us - they could be "attacked" by another country, say Indonesia, and retreat the provinces without breaking the contract.
Second, why are we giving away KwaZulu-Natal, one of the only two provinces we have with raw materials?

Good work Ines. although this does give us a border with Brazil for some time, I have a feeling it wont matter. If Brazil attack us, we'll have all our MPP's to their none. Works out for a loss against them.
Hope this doesn't last long, giving up regiones won't help SA grow.
