I’d like to offer my warmest greetings to the citizens of eCanada and eSaskatchewan.

My name is Francois L. Pignon, I am a member of the DAL and I am running for my first term as a congress member in Saskatchewan.

Although I am a new player, I have quickly become engrossed in eRepublik. I am an active member of both the DAL and eCan forums and I am found frequently on IRC. I believe as a congress member it is important to keep up with every day events and there is no greater way to do this than to remain active. It seems to me that far too many people are not active, or are not keeping up with current events and I seek to change this disheartening fact. As a congress member I will do my best to ensure player retention and I encourage others to do the same.

I will not be a two-clicking congressman. The goal of congress is not to vote “yes” on absolutely every proposition that passes through. I will listen to the people of Saskatchewan and the people of Canada. I am readily available to talk to and I am more than happy to do so.

I am in favour of the minimum wage being raised. I believe the $1.5 CAD minimum is unacceptable. It is very difficult to survive as a new player without support and the ensuing struggle forces many people to quit or become rapidly disinterested. A higher salary helps to keep citizens interested, which in turn helps to foster healthy Canadians.

We must protect the industry sectors for which Canada is known and will be known. The near destruction of the grain industry and the proposed renting of a titanium region is unacceptable. We need to think of the Canadian worker and the economy. In the case of titanium, this resource will be essential to our military strength after the V2 release.

I am a proud member of the CAF Rangers. I believe that everybody should join the military for at least some length of time. It helps keep me active in the community and it has helped me gain many friends in eRep. A great bonus is the ability to get free weapons and moving tickets to fight around the world against Phoenix. Fighting for Canada is an honour that everybody can and should have.
