WHAT’S THIS RUBBISH THEN?

Ladies and Gentlemen of eIreland,

On Monday, I will be running for the leadership of my pride and joy in this game, Eire Aonair.

The last time I was in this position was February 2012, and since then the party has always been in the hands of loyal and trusted members. Now as we face more turbulent waters, I ask my fellow members to elect me one more time so that I may steer us into calmer waters and hopefully some favourable winds.

HOW DID WE MAKE IT THIS FAR?

February – Darragh Davis
March – D-Glennon
April – Joey Millz
May – Joey Millz
June – MrConwayTwitty
July – Joey Millz
August – Joey Millz
September – Joey Millz

As you can see above, the party has been in the hands of 4 gentlemen since February, and as the founder of EA, who has watched its progress every inch of the way, I can say sincerely that all four of these players have been loyal, active, hard working, and deserving of election.

There may be founders of other organization reading this, and I think that they would agree that the most satisfying thing to see as a founder is when your successors carry on and preserve the ideas and principles that your creation was made for.

Upcoming elections aside, I’d like to thank my predecessors for the work they’ve done as presidents, but more importantly as members and as leaders. Everything that has been accomplished for the party, it has been as a party.

WHAT WILL I ACCOMPLISH?

In many ways I will lead EA as I have done in the past. I want to serve EA, not be its master.

* All important decisions will be democratic. All members will be free to think and vote how they choose without partisan political pressure from me.
* I will open lines of communication with all of our members however I can, and I will be attentive to their concerns, ideas, and thoughts.
* I will communicate with our members and eIreland through our forum, ingame communication, and articles.

(If needed I can also use IRC, although I prefer the accessibility of in game communications.)

New this month, I will address the following issues:

* Get members to figure out how EA will choose its congress list in the future.
Given the new political mechanics this is a pressing issue that will define the party. It’s basically the most important thing that the pp can do so I think it needs to be addressed seriously.

* Propose a policy of abstinence from supporting cp candidates in the future.
The pps ability to do this is irrelevant to the elections and it misrepresents the party by suggesting the partisan support of our members. If my fellow members agreed with me on this, I would abstain from giving our “support” to anyone rather than having a vote like I always used to.

* Re"vamp" (see what I did thur? No? scroll down more then 😠) our party’s image

I’ve been toying with new logo designs. I like our original logo which features a raven and the parties colours (black, green, and orange), but it couldn’t hurt to try something fresh and modern while still trying to incorporate our symbol (the raven) and preserve our character. I’m not going to force this down anyone’s throat but it’s worth trying.

* Review MU practices.
Given the number of MUs in Ireland and our supply capabilities, it needs to be reviewed whether EAMU is a good idea. The original constitution of EAMU is honestly a plan for what would be the best MU in eIreland in my opinion, but mixing politics and military is bad form – I’d like to show our MU constitution to the IA instead and see if they can get any ideas they like from it.

* Get Active.
I’ve posted several topics on our forum. These are topics that I wouldn’t want to spam our members in a pm with, but that are worth looking at and contributing to. I also want to get our party feed active, and get some new blood into the party and try to cultivate a new generation of great eIrish citizens.

Get to the Issues
I want our party to take action in some way shape or form on current issues. To name a few:

MU-nification (see what I did thur?) – I want to start talking about this. I’ve been working on a Irish uniform (rather than a MU based one) that would encorporate custom party and MU logos as part of a possible solution. My gimp skills are limited though so if someone thinks that’s a good idea they could jump on it with me. Whatever else we can come up with we need to share with eIreland and be willing to work on it.

Cp impeachment – I think this proposal is a bad one, and I want to get our members discussing this issue and voicing their own opinions. In my view 40 congress should not outweigh 85 citizens. Either way, it’s a good idea for our potential congress members to learn the dynamics of congress mechanics so that they can do right by the nation when its their turn.

UK Treaty and Regions – We need to get the forces of democracy rolling on this and decide where eIreland stands on this treaty on an ongoing basis. A time may come when its time to go back to war with our friends to the east, and in the meantime the greatest issue facing our MoD should be making sure that we don’t get wiped by a nation we apparently have a peace treaty with – let’s get our members talking about what we can do to accomplish that and then do it!

So that’s basically it…
Again I’m running for party president of Eire Aonair. Please vote, be active in the party, make your voice heard, and if you agree with my plan… vote for me?

Cheers,
Ian E Coleman
