So... Finally it's coming. Imperialists waited for PMV to use our stock and launched an invasion, four countries on a half-one.

I could talk for hours about the meaning of that strategy; about making good use of fakes, scripts and bots while officially saying "oh no no we don't support THIS !"; about lying, both in public and privately; about attacking for no reason, just "for fun" i guess.

It would probably be useless; instead, let's talk about consequences. Because, oh, yes, such decisions have consequences, the kind of stuff that hit you in the face weeks later, when you've half-forgotten what you've done.

France can give you lessons about this, yes, we learnt from our past. Whatever the (good) reasons of our fury towards the Swiss government in june, we answered by invading them. That was just something like "HEY WTF !" *blaaaam*. And then, what ? Nothing good, neither for french nor for swiss people. Nothing wrong either. It wasn't a month before we realized it had been completely useless: the traitors were still running, the idiots were still talking, and our gold was spent.

But, well, you'll tell me we had a reason, so the war had a meaning. Wars are often useless, but can be fun if they have a meaning. Ok. What about this one, now ? Is there any reason to fight ?

It isn't to see who got the biggest muscles between Atlantis and PEACE, for sure. The answer is written in the marble of Atlantis' charter: they just grouped the most powerful countries to reign and invade whoever they want. If Atlantis really wanted to show its superiority, it would attack a strong point and prove it can be as organized as PEACE without sending PMV's tanks first. It could be a great fight, even for a peaceful guy like me.

No, they choose France. A little country, peaceful, diplomatically active, tired after having forced PMV to spend its wonderful multi-gold treasure. A country who, from the first days of eRepublik, decided to discourage fakes and cheating, and must now be one of the countries with least banned accounts in the eWorld. A country who never hesitated to sacrifice itself for allies, like in Portugal a few days ago.

Let me guess. Sweden: "Ugh ! We want a war to show how strong we are !"
USA: "Oh yeyeyeyeyeaaaah ! We're the #1, we can invade anyone ! USA rulezzzz !"
Romania: "Shhh, WE are the #1. Adminia FTW."
UK: "Let's think about it. Who could we attack ?"
Sweden: "Indonesia ! Pakistan ! Italy !"
USA: "Thailand ! Thailand is easy ! Please, please, we want Thailand for our rookies !"
Romania: "..."
UK: "Nonono we must attack, uh, in Europe. A country with borders with us. With UK. So we don't waste fuel, eh."
Sweden: "Whatever."
Romania: "We'll eat them all anyway."
UK: "Ok, let's make a vote in Congress. Between, uh... Netherlands and France."
Sweden: "WTF ? Tiny prey. We want bigger. Italy. Turkey. Brazil."
USA: "OMG nonono ! Too big ! We... We... We'll get pwned so bad ! And hey, we hate cheese, let's kick some french ass !"
Canada: "Uh ? French ? Yeah cool."
UK: "May we remind you that Gouda is produced in...-"

Enough jokes. Seriously, guys, what do you think you'll win in France ? Do you really think we'll leave more than dust behind us ? Do you really think we'll spend gold we don't have for every single region you'll assault ? Do you think we'll play with your rules, creating thousands of fakes to feed 4 or 5 soldiers ? Or maybe that PEACE will invest every single gold it has to save us ?

We won't give you this pleasure. If it is fun you seek, then we'll deny you the fun. You'll put your muddy feet on barren lands. You'll use weapons and gold versus brainless walls. You'll gain a few regions, split them so each of you has its share, and then find a next target, probably.

I hate real-life references in eRep, but i'll indulge in one: you decided to use brute force, speechless, inhuman, unexplained, unbalanced war. We'll answer by resistance and terrorism. We'll bully you, cripple your economy, steal congress seats, spy your governments; France will be a burden for Atlantis, a burden you'll want to get rid of. French people know what it means to resist and sacrifice for friends and allies.

For each enemy foot that will sully our land, you'll pay, weeks later, twice the price. Is that the war you want ? Are you ready to bear the consequences ?

From this day on, France is a ghost country, and French people will become PEACE citizens, waiting and working for the resistance. That will come soon and put an end to the imperialist hopes of our enemies. PEACE will survive, and Good shall prevail.
