Vienna Citizens: Use of Your Taxes

Dear fellow Viennese,

I was informed today that the Bank of Vienna will be folded into the government. It is no longer going to be linked to our City (except in name). As you know, some of the funds used to operate the Bank came from local tax revenues. This amounts to 1,300 ATS. In addition, there are another 380 ATS in the mayoral account. As you know, local government will be abolished in V1 of eRepublik. Therefore, we need to decide how this money will be spent. My initial thought was to set up a trust fund toward the purchase of a Q4 hospital sometime in the future. However, a Q4 hospital will cost around 4,000 ATS, and we don't have that much. Therefore, I solicit alternative suggestions from you, dear fellow citizens.

Some possibilities are: (1) Distribute the money to current Viennese citizens; (2) spend it on gifts for Viennese citizens; (3) donate it to the federal government.

Donate it to federal government and it can be used to enhance all citizens life, every other local government is going through same thing.

@Hrvat: The question is, should everyone benefit at our expense? Other cities used their tax revenue to buy hospitals for themselves, so I don\'t really see why we should be so charitable and give the money away.

@Meanie: The problem is these are taxes paid over the past several months. There is no tracing back who actually paid what.

I just set both house and business taxes to 0. I really regret not having done this at the end of last month! Anyone who paid taxes this month, please PM me and I will refund you ASAP.
