You've wanted that for some time and each time you raised it you never provided a sound economic reason why. In this latest two-liner, you have said "i dont think its fair for e-australian companies".

This is contradictory to why you want Import Tax lowered. All a low Import Tax will do is encourage the flood of our market with cheap goods from cits of much more economically developed countries who can flog their goods off far cheaper than Australian producers can.

So in short - your proposal will hurt Australian business. Why would we want to encourage foreign takeovers of our marketshare?

so lower vat and raise import or keep import the same just lower vat like he said and australian companies will be bale to sell goods for lower and keep a good amount of sales?

Although it unlikely for prices to decrease, it will help business get further ahead and further down the track supply a better wage.

This might increase the amount of expendable money, thus increase demand, thus increase the amount of local business

i dont want a lower import tax...i want import tax higher than VAT

The problem we've always had in the past is that eAus doesn't produce enough goods to support ourselves in any large war (as when eIndo attacks). Whenever we increased import taxes supply dried up raising prices and limited supply.

This would be a good issue to discuss when we have a new Congress. Right now, with no Congress we couldn't make any changes, anyway.
