I Have a Dream
I have a dream, in real life and here too. An imagined world, an ideal one. A paradise, or heaven, but not the kind where lions are tamed and happily baaing with lambs on the green grass, under the blue sky, but a little more interesting than that. It is a world, where war can coexist with peace, where people who are fighting, do not hate each other for it, where small concerns are not in conflict with serious matters. A world of opposites which nevertheless create harmony.
I am an idealist, yes. But a strange kind of that, for I am cynical and ironical too. I am moving on the middle line, but I always stray from it to the sides, to discover the extremes, to examine them, to live them and if they are good, to build them into the warm and safe nest of the golden mean – these extremes are the salt of life, the ones that give taste to it, the ones that make it not a cliché, or a bland paradise, but a livable and enjoyable life.
My dreams have reality. I like to wander into strange new worlds, discover the depth of fantasy, and write stories for fun – but these are not dreams, these are fantasies. The dreams are for attainable goals. Dreams help to discover new tools and methods that exist but few thinks of them. All who come into power wants to bring something new – but most slides back into the comfortable solutions of routines. I dare to wander from the old paths, for I am used to it; but I still always notice when it becomes dangerous. That is why I am capable of bringing new solutions and avoid old mistakes.
Because I have a dream, and I dare to dream – and I can wake up from it.

"It is a world, where war can coexist with peace, where people who are fighting, do not hate each other for it..."
You say it so much better, but I keep telling my friends, this is a game, and those whom we fight, are not our enemies, but competitors. We should respect them if we want to be respected.
It is all about connections. On the first level you will always find hate and resentment for perceived wrongs. But those who dare to go deeper, will always find that the 'Enemy' is just another human being. Not an enemy at all, just different and competing, as you say. And at the same time fun to talk with. 🙂
wow, avatars are back! 🙂
and gone again...
An international Erepublik meeting, like the ones we have in Romania, would change the way many people see things, but unfortunately that is not possible, beeing too expensive to organise and to attend as well...
But we have an English chatroom if any of you would like to join;

But we did think about somehow organising an international meetinig... after all our countries do border each other in RL. 🙂
Yeah, a Romanian-Hungarian meeting would be the best place to negotiate the peace treaty!!!!
As a matter of fact, I live in Timisoara, and many of my friends go shopping in Hungary. Going for a beer shouldn't be that hard!
We are alwasy open to get a beer, folks. 😉
Well, I think a serious organization of such a meeting has just started... 🙂
He, he... I just remembered... In the 90s, I used to go to rock concerts in Budapest. The best concert I ever went to, was on Nepstadion with Guns And Roses, Faith No More and Soundgarden.
Aaaa Guns and Roses... the legend of my youth... I never went to concerts, for I always preferred casettes and later CDs to listen to music - but I heard this from dsalageanu too. He comes to Hungary sometimes and we have already invited him for a meeting. 🙂
Use Your Illusion Tour, 05/22/1992 - Népstadion (Budapest, Hungary)
This is a great story, for me at least. I was in high school, attending a boring class, and said to my frien😛 "Do you realize that tonight, G'n'R are playing in Budapest while we listen to this boring guy and do nothing about it?" And he sai😛 "Let's GO!"
We skipped the rest of the classes and hitch-hiked our way to Budapest, as we had no money. Once we got there, we still had no money for the tickets, so we met with a group of local kids who had the same problem. They showed us how to enter the stadium without tickets, and we got front seats as well 😉
That's a great story for international relationships. 🙂
When we are kids problems seem to be so much simpler. Only when we grow up, we start to make them complicated....
