Vampires – Legend or Reality?

The term "vampire" having the characteristics that we know today, became popular in the early 18th century from real people’s beliefs and testimonials in the Balkans and Western Europe.

In those years, the belief that vampires exist, caused mass hysteria in Europe that so many people accused of vampirism and killed with sticks in their heart - the only way to kill an "immortal" vampire - according to the most popular beliefs.

Recently, Italian researchers discovered the remains of a woman vampire who was buried with a brick in her mouth so that she could not be able to attack the victims of the plague that swept the city in the 16th century.

But at that time, vampires were different in appearance than the vampires we see now on movies. In fact, before the 19th century, vampires were not pale and thin, but red, evil and wore delicate shrouds.

In most cases vampire was someone who had committed suicide or was bitten by an animal, and often regarded as the vampires and witches possessed.

In my opinion vampires don't exist. It's a legend, a story made by people to explain themselves some situations they couldn't explain otherwise. What's your opinion?
