There is much talk today about romantic love, but this is not the only type, of course. There is the well known admonition that we should love our enemies; this is not a call for a shotgun wedding. Nor does it go on to say "unless you really dislike them, then you are free to hate."

It can be hard enough to get along with people you strongly disagree with, yet alone those who act in hateful, harmful ways towards you. Harder still to act in a way which could be called love. And yet this is the challenge given to us.

Today, maybe we can ask ourselves if there are ways in which we can act in a more respectful - loving - way, towards all.
