Presidential Elections
Dishmcds over at the DoD has a great summary of the upcoming [a url=http://www.erepublik.com/article-88761.html]Presidential election candidates[/a]. This summary has launched a long discussion and is a great starting point for anyone wishing to get into the political arena, or anyone that would just like a refresher before we hit election day.
Changes at the DoD
The Department of Defense is getting a facelift! Dish and several others have taken it upon themselves to [a url=http://www.erepublik.com/article-89501.html]do a little housecleaning[/a], if you haven't [a url=http://goforpizza.8.forumer.com/]signed up[/a] to take a look or be a part of the DoD yet, I encourage you to do so.
Libertarian Healthcare Experiment
Nave and the Libertarian party continue to be as active as ever, launching programs left and right. The latest expansion is a new "[a url=http://www.erepublik.com/profile-105392.html]Libertarian Health[/a]" user that will [a url=http://www.erepublik.com/press_release-7011.html]support your wellness[/a] if you add him as a friend. This program is very similar to a project that Dish has been running for a while as well. It seems we are [a url=http://www.erepublik.com/article-91391.html]awash in healthcare programs[/a]! This reporter wonders where all the funding is coming from for all the new Libertarian businesses and programs that seem so ultimately charitable. Perhaps one of these days we will get a tour of LiB HQ. Keep up the hard work guys.
Help Pick the Questions for the Presidential Debate
Mike W. continues his planning for the Presidential debates, and now he would like to [a url=http://www.erepublik.com/forum-Politics-55.html]hear from the general population[/a]. What questions would you like to ask the potential President of the U.S.? I would love to see not only US citizens chime in here, but international users with concerns as well. Head over to the forums to add your two cents.
News from the Local Elections
The local elections went off yesterday without too many problems. There is still a bug that doesn't allow the Party President to remove a selected candidate to be replaced by another even several days before the election. Not sure if this was an intentional lock to allow campaigning, or a problem with the system, but it would be great to hear the details from an admin. The election appears to be another overwhelming victory for the Libertarian party as they continue their meteoric rise in the eRepublik political system. Below the US News and Classifieds has included the detailed results of the local elections, congratulations to all the winners!
As a note to all new mayors, I'm glad that you won, but please try to contain your enthusiasm to PMs and the forums so that our news feeds are still functional. Until the admins give us the ability to delve into historical news items our "top 5" is very valuable real estate and spam will destroy it. To everyone else, I hope your alert box is water-cooled since we are going to see continued spam of tax change messages. Everyone gets these messages, please don't feel obligated to talk about them unless someone sets a local tax to something like 4.35 billion percent, that would be newsworthy. And now, the results.

Why isn\'t ACU on the list of political party percentages? Also, I find the ratio for citizens in state vs. citizens that voted interesting. Those stats range dramatically. I\'m satisfied with this election, partly because I came out on top, but I assumed I was going to anyways, but also with the number of mayors now. In comparison to last election (with about half the states mayorless), we now have a decent number. Let\'s aim for 100% next time 🙂. Another thing: the UK has started some sort of council project that involves all of the mayors and trying to help out new citizens. I\'ve been doing this already, as I hope that all of you have too -- when a new citizen messages you (especially if you own a company, because they look up to you in an e-sense), then you should allow them to ask questions, but leave room for themselves to learn on their own.
Ack, my mistake, should be updated and correct now, thanks Benn. Great advice as well, I hope all the public figures in the game step up and try to help new users to make their transition into the eWorld that much easier.
Thanks for the article. I encourage Citizens to donate to the good newspapers.
The election in Denver was also a tie between the two candidates, but the younger won for some reason. Not sure if it\'s correct, either way I dont really care, but I thought the older citizen won out.
Thats what i thought as well. When i looked at the stats last night i gave one of the ties to the ReP and one to ACU, but it seems they both went to the LIBs
