The Seven Points Speech reprised, with continued apologies to Woodrow Wilson)

Eight months ago I published a statement very similar to this one. I was Emerick's Vice President and a very young one by eRepublik standards - just 79 days old. Since that article was published much as transpire😛 the near-complete occupation of the US, the subsequent freeing of our states with a healthy assist from some now-EDEN allies, a successful Asian campaign that has reduced the influence of Indonesia, the freeing of Australia, the continued battles over South Africa and throughout Europe. But one thing has remained steady: my belief in the utter truth of the basic foreign policy principles that follow:

For as long as I remain the President of the United States the following statements shall be our guiding principles with regards to foreign policy:

- Equality among nations and equitable treatment according to the standards defined below is paramount; there are no special situations.

- Ethical treatment of unaligned nations, nations friendly to the United States, and nations allied to the United States is expected from all nations granted MPPs. In short, the United States promotes brotherhood amongst its allies and friends. If you wish to ally with us be cool and don't be a dick.

- The territorial integrity of unaligned nations, nations friendly to the United States and nations allied to the United States shall be respected above all else. We also expect our allies to respect the territorial integrity of these nations. Summary: focus on those opposed to all of us, not those that pose no overall threat.

- All unaligned nations, nations friendly to the United States and nations allied to the United States are sovereign with regards to decisions concerning internal matters and foreign policy. In short, if they don't want you to enter their country, don't. If you want a piece of it, negotiate a lease.

- The United States will no longer support countries that condone wars of conquest and occupation against unaligned nations, nations friendly to the United States and nations allied to the United States. Again, if you pick a fight with these countries we won't sign an MPP with you or fight for you.

- The United States will support any unaligned nations, nations friendly to the United States and nations allied to the United States in its attempts to free itself from occupation and repression at the hands of a foreign power. Summary: we like to side with the underdogs and not the bullies.

- The United States will seek equal access to markets, raw materials and finished goods for all nations.

This isn't hard to understand. Don't expect us to remain your ally if you're going to act like dicks and push around nations that don't deserve it. Fair, equitable and honest treatment is what engenders trust. Associating or allying with nations that don't practice fairness, honesty and equitable treatment tarnishes our reputation and makes us untrustworthy. It is my goal to clarify the position of the US with regards to other nations throughout eRepublik. It is no longer enough to simply oppose Phoenix and its occupation of foreign territory and its subjugation of nations; we must not become that which we seek to destroy. Contrary to recent conjecture, Nietsche is not dea😛 "He who fights with monsters might take care lest he thereby become a monster. And if you gaze for long into an abyss, the abyss gazes also into you."
