UPDATE: eTurkey has not lost the spirit of Atatürk!

Day 1,182, 04:35 Published in Hungary Hungary by Nalaja
UPDATE: According to the announcement of the real Turkish President, the draft of the Greco-Turkish peace treaty was rejected by the Turks. The situation is still not clear as the original signature on the treaty was not the one of the real President, moreover the signer, alipoyraz has proposed NE against eGreece, which was forbidden in the shame treaty.

--- The original article of mine is below, however it is obsoleted. ---

Original title was: Greek-Turkish peace: where is the spirit of Atatürk?

DISCLAIMER: though I'm a government personnel of eHungary and a kind of leader of the NWO, the main message of this article is solely my personal opinion that is not necessarily co-incides the opinion of these bodies.

DISCLAIMER2: I haven't forget my previous article, however the NWO had a busy period and could not deal with such secondary things like its own name (smiley).

I've just read the text of the Turco-Greek peace treaty and I am really quite surprised.

Yes, there are times when the situation is almost hopeless. Yes, there are situations when we cannot see any feasible solution. However, giving up the national pride is hardly a good solution.

Once upon a time, RL Turkey faced a similar situation. At the end of WWI, the entente powers tried to force Turkey to sign a similar treaty, agree to cede vital core regions of Anatolia. However, that time, Turkey had a real leader.

Mustafa Kemal knew it would have been unacceptable for the Turks. Instead of signing the peace, he convinced the Turkish army to resist. In two and a half years, with his political and military leadership, the Turks defeated all invaders and forced the entente to sign a treaty that was much more favourable for Turkey. He really deserved to be named Atatürk, Father of the Turks.

eRepublik is a game. In a game, this kind of decisions, I mean deciding to resist is much more easier than RL, even just for fun. That's why I'm so surprised.

The above things are my personal opinion. From now, I tell as a representative of the former Group4 (Serbia, Macedonia, Turkey, Hungary) that it was quite shocking to hear from Turkish delegates that they want to turn to PANAM because of their threatened status and the inadequate amount of Serbian and Hungarian support (it was still before the NWO). I have to ask now, what was the goal? This one? This could have been achieved without the support of PANAM. I'm sorry to say this.

RL friendship is a big issue, and I can only think of Turks as my friends. Keep up the spirit!

P.S. can somebody explain how it is possible that in the cited peace treaty was signed by "Alipoyraz, President of eTurkey" (he has Atatürk in his avatar!), while according to the erep datasheet of Turkey, the president is Suleyman Shah?
