"No wonder she looked familiar."

"Hey, Johnny Boy, stop talking to yourself, what's on your mind?"

I just woke up. We set up a camp with two tents. Rielle slept on one of the tents. Chris and yours truly got stuck on the same tent.

"Chris", I said, "I just had that dream. Again."

"Oh. Your 'past' dream". Chris responded.

Yeah, this has been going for some time now. I remember my past crystal clear. But I've never really dreamed of dreaming these dreams. "Hey, Chris. Uh, where's the Princess?"

"Oh, yeah, she's still sleeping on the other tent. Your tent."

"Oh". Yeah. Haha. Princess. Right. She's the runaway princess of Arcea. The sole survivor of the Saint-Claudes. The Arcean Royalty. Heir Apparent to the throne. Gosh. What a night it was.

"Hey". Chris asked for my attention. "Everyone knows about your past! Or, at least, I do."

I've never told you everything yet, Chris. I thought.

"I'm sorry."

"What?" Chris was confused. "For what?"

"Not telling everything."

"About what?"

"My past."

"What? Well... Sure. If you don't want to say it, then don--"

"No. I want to. But y'know, its kinda hard to remember all the pieces of the puzzle, until now."

"Yeah, sure. Take your time."

"Uh, ok. So where do I start?" Hmmm. Well, he knows that I am second-born of son of the Mendez Nobility, so yeah, I'm of noble blood. My father, John Mendez I (the first) was the defense general-supreme of the Arcean army. I don't know If he died in their defense against the Cieragonians in their recent attack. I never had news about them, since then.

"Well?"

"Oh. Okay. Well... My family was in a close relationship with the Saint-Claudes, her family. We often played together. And do you remember that ring I wore before but is now the 12th-fret inlay on my guitar?"

"Yeah?"

"She gave it to me. It served as a remembrance. I can't believe that until now, she's still wearing it, but she doesn't seem to remember me. At all. Also, she's one of the reasons why I took off."

"What I thought you only took off for adventure?"

"I did say you just now that I did not tell you everything, right?"

"Oh. Yeah. So what happened?"

"If you could see it later, I was responsible for a giant scar in her back. We were taking fencing lessons before and I was trying to impress her. With a saber in my hand, I closed my eyes and said that I could do one of the routines flawlessly. So I did close my eyes and did the routine. She dropped her saber, and she tried to pick it up, ducking down. And as I was going to slash down, I hit her back, and well, I wounded her with my saber. I couldn't face her since that time. Our families often got together and I have to deal with being close to her everytime our families bonded. I couldn't take it anymore, and with the boredom i felt, I ran away from royalty to be a bard. And now that I know her, I can't even talk to her right now, let alone face her."

"Woah."

"Well, just forget about it. I can't talk to her now anymore. Gosh."

"Excuse me." Oh no, the voice isn't Chris'. Could she have heard it?

"Oh. Rielle", Chris said. He whispered to me, "Hey I'm gonna get some food ready for her, you go and fix yourself up, and pack up. We're gonna go in an hour, alright?"

"Okay", I responded weakly. She makes me weak.

Chris opened the tent, I covered my face with my pillow.

"Oh", I heard her talk, "Is... Is John alright?"

"He's fine", Chris responded, "C'mon, princess, we're gonna fix you a breakfast, alright?"

"Oh, okay. John, I hope you're alright. I just woke up, too. C'mon Chris."

Whew. At least I know now that she never heard our conversation.

"We're gonna go now, John. Fix up, alright?" Chris commanded.

He closed the tent. I took the pillow off my face. Good. I ran just so I could escape her, and now, she's back. Why, oh why?

"John!" Chris shouted from the outside.

"Hey!", I responded.

"Get your guitar!" He shouted back.

The message was clear. Trouble.
