"Surterra sure is a big forest".

"Gosh, I feel stupid talking to myself". Rielle, stop talking to yourself! She felt stupid talking to herself.

Are they still chasing me? She thought. Its getting dark, too.

"Hmmm... I guess that tree'll have to do. For now."

And as she laid back a giant tree, flashbacks came to her.

She saw smiles. Smiles of her and her sister's. They were playing around this big giant tree chasing each other around, with nothing to worry about, except of course, how to not be chased by each other. It was happy like that. And for once, she wished she'd come back to being a kid again. Well, the events in her life now are very demanding of worry. For now, what she's worrying about is still escaping her chasers, but the idea wasn't really as fun as it was when it was with her sister.

Then, the flashback offered the other part of the story. They were having a picnic in that forest with their parents. "Why'd they have to stay home?" Tears rolled down her cheeks.

She was crying.

Then, sounds of moving grass were audible. Alert, she held back her crying, wiped her tears off, and tried to peek around. She found nothing.

Then... Floating red-orange lights appeared. They looked like they were coming closer. Oh gosh, I must start running, she thought.

Obviously, she ran.

And she fell.

It was a giant pit, man-made. It was like a trap, but she knew well that it wasn't her chasers who made this.

"Bingo!" She heard a calm yet excited voice of a male. It sounded like a trained tenor.

"Right. At last, we have something to eat!" The other voice was still male, a baritone by nature. Both voices sounded like they were musically trained.

Then, she heard a clasping of hands. A high-five or something.

As the two men bent down to see what was inside, it was nothing like they thought.

"I was thinking more of a boar or something like that, but we caught a chick! And a hot one at that!"

"Shut up Chris, haha". Apparently, the baritone was Chris. "Hey, miss are you alright? I'm-- we're sorry for the trap. It was supposed to be for our food this evening."

"Its alright," Rielle said, "I wasn't badly hurt or anything".

Then Chris got a rope down the pit and nailed the other end on the ground.

"Take hold of the rope miss", he said, "We're gonna pull you up now."

"Oh, okay. Here, I'm holding it now." She replied.

"Okay", the tenor said. "We're gonna pull you up now, but we need your help, alright? Every time the rope gets tighter, step on the wall of the pit, and walk your way up as we pull you up, Okay?"

"Sure."

Moments later, she's up. And she now clearly saw the faces of her trappers. And saviors.

The one, who the other guy called Chris, was very muscular. He also had dark brown hair that was slicked back. He was wearing a sleeveless jacket with no undershirt under it. He wore shorts and hiker shoes.

The other guy, was quite chubby. His eyes had that serious, but light feel to it. He was a bit intriguing. He was also wearing a jacket, but it had sleeves and he had an undershirt paired with it. Oh, he also had a long brass ring on the ring finger of his left hand. And he had a bag slinged at his back shaped like a guitar.

They were musicians.

And then, a loud female voice shouted to them, it wasn't that high, but it had power in it.

"Give her back!"
