Under-Ministry of Educational Services: A Fresh Start

Day 451, 12:31 Published in United Kingdom United Kingdom by Oexis

Hello everyone! I am Oexis, the new Undersecretary. Former Undersecretary Stan Wephen left the position to me upon his resignation, and I am determined to do him proud with the education of eUK citizens.

I have recently been in discussion with the Minister of Information and Education, malta_1990, and Liason and Examinations Executive mr. brodie regarding some changes to the system. We would like to implement many things, including a new exam.

Firstly, we have made plans to bring back the ACE examination, in five subject areas: Military History, Economics, Politics, History and Foreign Affairs. This exam will be very specialised and much harder than the basic CORE exam, which will be a decent qualification to prove expertise in a field rather than an exam that any player should be able to complete. The exam will be compiled using the same techniques as the CORE, but will include questions sent in by experts in that particular subject.

Secondly, we would like to re-introduce grades for the examinations. Under this system, percentages are awarded letter grades. We have lowered the CORE pass mark from 90% to 85%. A* is the highest grade, C is the pass mark, D is for those that just missed out, and U is for lower fails:
99% - A*
95% - A
90% - B
85% - C
80% - D
75% or below - U

Thirdly, we will introduce post-nominals for graduates: Bachelor of CORE (BCore) and Doctor of *ACE Subject* (DFA, DMH, DH, DP, DE).

Also, in order to keep the exams different and challenging, so we can use all of the syllabus rather than testing specific questions over and over, we will be changing the questions of CORE monthly.

Lastly, the Under-Ministry will be issuing some help guides for certain situations so that people can act calmly and properly in emergencies, such as the threat of regional invasion or economic crashes, for example. We hope that these guides will reduce irrational behaviour and keep people calm in emergencies, for their and the eUK's benefit.

Thank you,
Oexis, Undersecretary of Educational Services
