UKRP - eUK's most Confusing Party
Tommy Tommasino
A few months ago I ran for UKRP Party President, at the time having spent 4 months gaining experience in eUK politics, with a plan to really reform a party that was seen by the vast majority of eUK as being a detrimental presence on eUK scene with vast inactivity and large sheep voting membership base.
Certain members of the party however were up-in-arms. How could someone who had not proved loyalty to the party be running?
The party logo at the time was change to 'Voke Funky' - in my mind something to purposefully sway voters. Cheating. I lost the elections and finished in 2nd place behind Funky (who went on to make a decent Party President).
Now however we find a confusing silence from UKRP while the candidate who is currently leading the UKRP Party President elections, and whose manifesto they linked to in their Party President media release, has been an eUK citizen for THREE DAYS. A purchases 'unlock features' pack of course and no guarantee of who this person is or their motives for running. How can they understand politics and our system in eUK after 3 days? How can someone be ready to lead a party after 3 days? Why are UKRP silent on this? Why do they not make as big a deal of this as they did when I ran?
I demand to know their stance on this candidate winning. 3 days does not prove party loyalty nor eUK loyalty. How has this candidate managed to beat candidates (so far) like Stefan Dorunga and Arthur?
Who is voting for him? Is this some kind of party takeover? Is this 3 day old actually 3 days old or a 'multi'?
I demand some kind of statement from UKRP.

I CAN SMELL MULITS???
*Voted and Subcribed*
He'll probably go inactive in a week 😛
Because the party is inactive.
You guys are so stuck-up.
1) None of you are members of UKRP so it is noting to do with you.
2) Im certain he isnt a multi because he keeps asking me and other people for advice, he is new but he is learning fast.
3) If he goes inactive then actually he will teach the party a huge lesson. Marcus is the only one who has bothered to speak to the non-forum active, and younger, members by spending time messaging them and ecouraging them to vote. Last PP election there was only a 15% turnout, we are there already after 9 hours this time.
4) If he wins and it causes problems, it is only for one month and it will really teach the more experienced players not to be so complacent
5) One thing no-one here has considered is that he might be really good - obviously lots of people do think this becsause he is winning
lordmwa with all due respect you are 13 days old, and a newbie also. we've been around for months and know what we're talking about (and the history of UKRP). I am in fact an ex UKRP member myself...
no offence to UKRP but i can't take the party seriously if they elect someone with zero game experience. (no offence to Marcus)
This is very suspicious. Sounds like a political takeover. Why doesn't the UKRP give a comment on this?
I know i am also new but actually if you are an ex UKRP member why does it have anything to do with you. You seem to have taken it upon yourself to everything possible from stopping him winning the election. Leader of the UKRP is completely irrelevant to any non-UKRP memeber
UKRP often sway the General Elections, so its of every importance thankyou.
You know what? I am a UKRP party member and in my opinion it's not right. New members like him should be banned from participating in the general elections. If he wins and messes up the UKRP then I'll make sure he doesn't get anything done properly again. I will not have some 3-day-old member ruin one of the biggest parties in the world. Lordmwa, are you happy that I have the same views as Tommy? It IS my business since I am a UKRP member. So it's completely relevant to me.
I don't think they should be able to buy features. Tommy, they didn't want you to win because you said that you would make the party active, and then you went inactive for 2 weeks because you were ill and you even posted an article saying don't vote for me. But it is slightly worrying, however he does seem active
(From IndieKid)
How can you determine activity from only 3 days of play? I also am a UKRP member, and I have to say, I'm rather concerned. Here we have a player who
a) Seems to know more about the game than a 3-day-old member should ever know.
and
b) Conveniently shows up just before a PP election, and decides to run for PP
Honestly, there's a good chance I may change parties if he does indeed win the UKRP PP Election.

PCP is always willing to accept 😉
The Views Expressed in this comment are those of THIS USER and not Necessarily those of the UKRP
"Funky (who went on to make a decent Party President)."
@Tommy-Funky44 was 10 times better as party president then you ever would've been.
See Tommy people didn't vote for Funky over you because they didn't feel that you were at all LOYAL to the party...funny thing really because the voter's anxieties about having you as PP turned out to be true *Gasp*. After you USED the "large sheep voting" party of the eUK to finally get you elected to congress after two failed attempts to run under MDU, your contributions to the party forums was your own "vast inactivity". Then of course you left UKRP when the first excuse to leave the party arose (CV James being elected as MDU PP) you did so despite claiming that the only thing that would make you leave UKRP would be the formation of eMalta! Of course the story doesn't end there -- the BIG SURPRISE came with the next congressional elections when you failed to hold on to your seat in congress. Then there was the run for CP—I mean did you expect to win after burning so many bridges with UKRP. Honestly Tommy for someone who’s supposed to be an experienced in game politician your not doing anything for your image.
UKRP gave you a chance to become a valuable party member—you messed it up—now stop whining.

"my main concern, as founder of UKRP, is that you will go inactive before the next election and won't nominate someone for presidency. Then we would be seriously fucked"
Shadow - UKRP founder
From everything that I've seen of him, he seems fairly intelligent and capable. I don't think that in-game "age" has anything to do with things, to be honest.
Just to put things in perspective. I joined the UKRP the day I was "born" in-game, and within a couple of days I was the Party Press Secretary. After about a week of play, I was made the Party VP when Katie stepped down and appointed Funky as the interim PP. Within about a week after that, I was appointed the interim PP when Funky stepped down. I was about three weeks old, maybe. I was then elected as PP another two weeks or so later.
I like to think that I was a good PP during those nearly 8 weeks overall.
In-game "age" doesn't really matter, in my experience and opinion. Not for something like being a PP. Being Party President requires organisational and leadership ability, which in-game "age" does not grant you. Those are inherent to the person, and no amount of in-game experience garners a person these inherent traits.
Marcus has demonstrated maturity, intelligence, and perspective. I think that if the UKRP elite work with him and provide the knowledge that their expertise has granted them that he has not had the opportunity to gain, that he could make a fine PP for the UKRP.
When I started playing, the UKRP was in a transitional phase and was in need of new blood and the new ideas they bring. I think UKRP is in such a phase again, and Marcus could very likely be the ideal leader for them.
That's the thing though Rayf, you worked your way up. Granted, it was a rather fast progression, but you worked your way up.
With Marcus, we have no idea who he is, if his loyalty to the UKRP is honest, or if he'll even stay active for a whole month. His in-game age doesn't matter so much as proving himself to the party.
He's lost me.
