UK Votes December 08: Meet The Candidates
wazcaster
The current presidential candidates for the main parties are as follows:
UKRP: Dishcmds
Current UK President. After moving to the UK from the US, he became involved with UK politics, eventually working his way up the ranks of UKRP to become the president. So far he has been fairly successful in his goals of reforming the NHS, and has proved his ability to lead the UK well.
Policies: Reintroducing the Transport For London scheme (which is already underway) and filling all the Ministerial roles (the question is whether there are enough active members to fulfill that pledge).
PCP: Bremer
Once finance minister and long time congressman, Bremer is disliked by some for his apparent lack of respect for others. He became Mayor of Cardiff, winning against TUPs Jasperking, before gaining a seat in congress under KIA Sneak, the first PCP president. He was also breifly the UKs ambassador to Brazil.
Policies: No policies yet declared. His manifesto is due to be released.
TUP: Squiddy
Current Minister of Foreign Affairs, Squiddy won the recent party elections to become party president. After only a few weeks, Squiddy just missed out on becoming Mayor of Bristol after only a few weeks, however he succeeded AngelFeather to become Mayor of London. He is the General Manager of Zycon Industries. He is very experienced in politics and has good links with other senior political figures.
Policies: No policies declared yet. His manifesto is due to be released.
MDU: Tommy Tommasino
Rank outsider, Tommy Tommasino has held no position in the UK government, with his most senior position being as Press Officer for MDU. He is inexperienced in terms of government and many of his policies seem slightly shaky.
Policies: Reform of the trade unions (neccesary?), budget report system (already proposed by TUP congressman Malta_1990), more financial support for the UK military (not needed, the UKs military already has enough money), more public information (this may be a waste of time, as the public are kept quite well informed already), more NHS publicity and rewards for active directors (a sound policy, it will ensure that the NHS is kept up to standard) and more support for new citizens (if they sign up to the UKs forums, they will gain lot of support already, so is this really needed?).
Notice: This article is NOT written from a neutral viewpoint. If you wish to gain any more information about any of the candidates listed on this page so that you can make up your own mind, contact them and ask them your questions.

I am waiting for the manifestos
I get the feeling that the editor isn't a huge fan of Tommy Tommasino? 😃
Opinion is allowed 🙂
But please do read through my manifesto rather than just take the points from it made here, and make up your own mind, even if it ends up you agree.
he was a bit derogatory about bremer as well
Absolutely. And the freedom a person has to hold their own opinion is of the upmost importance. I think it must also be remembered that with yourself, Tommy Tommasino, being the only opposition candidate to offer a manifesto thus far it makes it easier to decide whether you agree with the stances you take or disagree.
Indeed, that's true I suppose.
'I get the feeling that the editor isn't a huge fan of Tommy Tommasino? 😃'
Likewise, but it's still a good article for comparing parties
Agreed.
Meet the candidates?? or vote TUP??
talk about negative campaigning
Well.. this is a good article, it really helped me cause i dont know much about the presidential candidates... but i dont think that your opinion had to be here :/
@ Tommy:
He said what is in your manifesto. He also made comments, which apparently, many other people have been thinking of. Now, if you'd care to prove everyone wrong about your policies, I'd welcome a full explanation of them.
@ Rastari
Yes, wazcaster is slightly derogatory to Bremer, and while I haven't been around long enough to really tell, Bremer does seem quick to insult others, so that isn't necessarily off the mark.
As for Tommy, the biographical information is accurate. He really has had no role in government. As for the policies, my personal opinions on them are very clear, both from reading the above part of the coment, and on his "manifesto".
a good article there, as a newcomer to erepublik this has quickly and easily informed me of the political status of the eUK
I agree with Tommy's idea about helping newcomers, a personal message by a party official with promise of help and support was all it took to convert me to PCP so I would recommend other parties to do that!
Lack of respect for others?
Good Lord, where you are getting those infos from?
and policies:

Not the final manifesto, but anyway...
And my "CV" is lacking information. Quick to insult others? I beg to differ.
"Meet the candidates" or "This is why the TUP is better" 😛
Either way, interesting article and a good read. At least it hasnt pretended to be neutral 🙂
