Tyler Jenkins For Mississippi and A Return To Politics

Day 1,036, 11:55 Published in USA Ireland by Tyler Jenkins

It's been well over a year since I last served the eUS as a congressman from the state of Montana. This September, it is my hope to return to Congress, so that I can continue to serve this country of ours. This is why I am announcing my intention to run for Congress as a representative of the state of MISSISSIPPI.

ABOUT ME

I was born March 27, 2009 (Day 493), just before President scrabman's attack on FER. A month later I was, more or less, persuaded to run for Congress by Senators Cromstar and Claire Littleton, which I did. I managed to win my election and served as a representative of Montana for one month. The next month, I chose not to run for re-election, but rather to see the world and attempt to learn more about the game.

I spent several weeks fighting alongside our Romanian and Croatian allies before coming home and enlisting with the eUS Airborne, where I was placed in a platoon under future POTUS Jewitt. Soon after, WWIII began, and I began climbing the ranks in my service to the Airborne, ultimately achieving the rank of Colonel and becoming the DCO of the 101st Division under the command of Maxmillian VonWillebrand and TheSpartan. While continuing to serve in the military, I also took on the job of Secretary of Defense, under the first Josh Frost administration, and later, Deputy Director of the CTF. When the new year came around, I decided a change could be good, so I joined Seal Team 6 at the suggestion of Speedcat McNasty, where I was given command of The Immortals platoon.

By February 2010, real life was beginning to catch up with me and, so after a brief move to eAustralia, I decided a break was in my best interest. In June 2010, I returned to the game, where I mainly moved around fighting for our allies until choosing to re-enlist in the Airborne. Since July, I have remained in the Airborne, where I currently hold the rank of First Lieutenant and am PCO of the 101st Airborne's 4th platoon.

In short, here is my resume:

*Former Congressman (Montana)
*Former Secretary of Defense
*Former Deputy Director of CTF
*Former Colonel (eUS Airborne)
*Former 1 Lieutenant (Seal Team 6)
*Current 1 Lieutenant (eUS Airborne)

PLATFORM:

Military: Since I have served in the military for most of my lifetime here in eRepublik, I believe this will be my strongest focus while in Congress. I will to work to ensure that our military continues to receive everything they need to remain a top power in our world. I also believe that we, as government officials, need to continue to bridge a gap between our military, so that both sides understand we are working together for the benefit of our country. In order to do that, I believe that communication is the key and that we must be responsible for listening to the needs of the military and keep them informed of the happenings within the government.

World Affairs: I believe it is important to support our friends and stand united with them in defeating our enemies. I will continue to support proposed MPP's with our friends, as well as those we might sign with potential friends. I also believe we must continue work hard to prove to our friends in EDEN as well as our Bro's that we will be there for them and support them when we can.

Taxes: While this is not my strongest suit, I will continue to support free trade here in the eUS, by making sure our citizens have access to the best and most cost effective goods. I do not, however, believe that should come at the expense of domestic companies and their ability to employ a workforce and I will work hard at finding a healthy balance in this area.

Transparency: I've often heard people ask what Congress does. It's important to make sure our citizens understand what is happening in their country and as such, as I did in my previous term as a congressman, I will keep an open door to anyone with concerns, suggestions, or those that just want to chat.

Player Retention and Baby Boom's: Our nation can only go as far as our population allows us to go. With that said, I believe it's important to find ways to promote eRepublik and the eUS, so that we can continue to compete with other nations around our world both economically and militarily. It isn't enough, however, to just get citizens to come here...we must make them want to stay and become more involved. In order to do this, I believe we must take more time to work 1 on 1 with new players, teach, promote our military and give them jobs that will create a sense of worth and meaning in their eLives.

CONCLUSION:

My primary goal is to see the eUS succeed at every level of the game. I believe that I have the ability and the experience for the job. I only ask for the opportunity to serve this nation and should I be given that opportunity, you can be assured that I will work hard to ensure the success of this country of ours. Thank you for taking the time to read this wall of text and I thank all those that will be voting.....
