Turning the Tables

Day 661, 02:40 Published in USA Philippines by Leannonn Elrinndael

Some different news from the battlefield today. Russia managed to defend a couple of regions yesterday. US failed to take Illinois (+47k) and Connecticut(+12k), while the attack on Massachusetts(-76k) succeeded. Battle for New Jersey (+64k) enters the final hour and that's the last direct attack on Russia. There's also a RW taking place in Rhode Island (+1k), but it seems there's not much chance for success as US doesn't have many soldiers in Russia at the moment.

After a long time, finally there's an interesting battle. Illinois went steadily down for the first few hours, but no lower than -31k. It stayed at that level for the next couple of hours just to start going up some 10 hours from time, but it didn't get far and it kept bouncing up and down until the last hour or so. The last 30 minute started with a furious PEACE attack which managed to get the wall up to +117k in 15 minutes and which turned out to be enough to secure the region.

The battle for Connecticut started at the same time as Illionis and it was mostly in the underground during the day and it could have easily had a different result. Anyway, PEACE seemed to have a cooler head at the time and easily nudged the wall above the `Secure` line in the final minutes.

The wall in battle for Massachusetts also went down for the first few hours, but here we've not seen any attempt to stall its progress by the defenders. It just went deeper and deeper into the underground and absolutely nothing happened until the end.

USA

Colombia turned up the heat by attacking no less than four US regions - Nebraska (+122k), California (+263k), Arkansas (+25k) and Louisiana (+50k). There will be no retreats this time and it's almost certain that Russia will take the initiative unless they get attacked by a third country. Russia now also shares a border with Colombia (Missouri - Illinois), and will be able to swap regions if necessary. There's a RW on Colombian soil, too - New Mexico (+11k), but I'm not sure how many US soldiers will go there to fight 🙂

Colombia

Canada continued the attacks on Hungary - there's a RW (+201k) and an attack on Montana (+256k), but I'm not so sure Hungary will sit and do nothing any more. It's quite possible something will change on this front too, but it will most probably start tomorrow judging from the damage already spent here. The only action in Europe is Germany taking back it's regions - today it's Hesse (-77k).

Today is definitely the day the tables turn, so I guess we'll see if the action gets hotter or not. Is there enough strength and (more importantly) money left for PEACE to launch a serious comeback in North America? Do they really want to?

Until tomorrow.

Take care,
Leannonn
