3. Answer and What Am I Riddle

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
1. Training War On Today and Tomorrow
Yes, that's right - the US and Ireland are having a training war with an active battle right now! Be sure to fight, and heal at a good hospital. Remember, battles last for 24 hours, so you'll be able to fight and heal both today and tomorrow. Since you'll be able to go to the hospital twice, make the most of it - don't heal up to 100 today, heal up to 90+. By fighting an extra time, you'll get two more experience, and a little closer to a higher rank - and you can heal all the way up to 100 wellness tomorrow if you so desire!
2. New Citizen Mentorship Program
The Canadian Green Party has launched a mentorship program, available for all new citizens. If you've gained a few levels, and would like some support or someone to ask questions to, you're not too old to join!
Plato's assistance is somewhat limited, so we've created this program to help pick up where he leaves off. New citizens who are part of the program are paired with a mentor. Mentors share some advice and tips, and answer any questions asked by the new citizens. The first few days and weeks can be confusing, frustrating, or even boring if all you do is work and train. This program will help new citizens learn the ropes, provide some social interaction and introduce them to more of what eRepublik has to offer.
If you're a new citizen, and would like to participate in this program, you can leave a comment on this article, send me a private message, or head to the Canadian Green Party forums (http://canadagreenparty.forumotion.net/index.htm), and post that you'd like a mentor.
3. Answer and What Am I Riddle
An answer to last issue's riddle was provided by Platypus Ltd - "The answer is silence". Here is my answer, to the best of my ability:
One hand does not make a sound. Any attempt to verbally (or via keyboard) answer this riddle produces sound, thus failing to demonstrate the answer. While someone is thinking, trying to come up with the answer, they are producing it (by making no sound), but when they attempt an answer, they produce noise, rendering the answer invalid. In this way, searching for the answer produces the right answer, while attempting to communicate it violates the answer. In other words, the answer is silence - congratulations to Platypus Ltd, and to everyone who did not submit an answer. You are all correct!
This next riddle is translated from the Anglo-Saxon "Exeter Book", dating from the 10th century. It is a "What/Who Am I" riddle:
I am a lonely being, scarred by swords,
Wounded by iron, sated with battle-deeds,
Wearied by blades. Often I witness war,
Perilous fight, nor hope for consolation,
That any help may rescue me from strife
Before I perish among fighting men;
But hammered swords, hard edged and grimly sharp,
Batter me, and the handwork of the smith
Bites in the castles; I must ever wait
A contest yet more cruel. I could never
In any habitation find the sort
Of doctor who could heal my wounds with herbs;
But cuts from swords ever increase on me
Through deadly contest, both by day and night.
