The postulation: The first step to become the Pharaoh.

I talk a lot about the Roman Cursus Honorum. It was the series of jobs someone should do to reach the most powerful positions in that world; so you couldn’t directly run for the consulate or the censorship, the two most important ones, without having done some less important jobs always showing your valuability. This things here, although is not regulated by law –which would be interesting-, often happens: as we have a political system established since months ago, an individual can’t arrive here and immediately become a candidate in one of the majoritarian parties, even Egyptian or Catalan ones, because his postulation will not be accepted and will be probably accused of trying to TO the party.

Let’s move, then, towards the practical part. Our individual will have three options: to become the President of a majoritarian party in a weird way, highly improbable, and to postulate himself to run for the Country Presidency without letting other party members vote, what is a non-democratic action; to create a new party, which is the most difficult way to become President; or the one most accurate for our system and the best for the country: he will have to achieve things in some aspects of this country’s political life, so he will be finally be promoted in a party until he arrives to the candidacy to become Pharaoh.

If he takes the third option, the one that the common sense says is the good one, the individual will have to catch the attention of all the citizens with nice actions that could really benefit the country. That is when the first difficulties arrive; there’s no easy aspect here, no shortcuts, either you have a good and powerful friend in the Government (that anyways you will need to). However, he will have to work hard trying to emphasize his specially good actions; and he could probably start by having a vMinistery, an Embassy, recruiting new members for the party, writing some awesome articles... Always looking to benefit the country’s population. If this is done, in few weeks he will be promoted to Minister, and when our individual is there nobody will see strange that he presents himself as a candidate to be the party’s postulate to Pharaoh. If elections to choose party’s candidate are held and he is chosen, he will have to focus in the electoral campaign; if he loses, he will have to keep working to be the next month’s postulate, and it would be nice and necessary to sincerely congratulate the winner, to morally force him to be reciprocal next month.

El Cursus Honorum romà, del que parlo sovint, era la carrera que havia de seguir algú que volgués arribar a les més altes magistratures del país. És a dir, un no es podia presentar a cònsul o a censor, els dos càrrecs més importants, sense haver passat per una sèrie de treballs de menor abast aparent, sempre havent demostrat la seva vàlua. Aquí això, tot i no estar regulat per llei, cosa que seria, si més no, interessant, acostuma a passar igualment: com que tenim un sistema polític establert des de molts mesos ençà, un individu no pot arribar i presentar-se immediatament com a candidat d'un dels partits majoritaris, sigui egipci o català, ja que la seva postulació no serà acceptada i probablement serà acusada de intentar un TOveig o alguna cosa pitjor.

Passem, doncs, a la pràctica, i és que el individu en qüestió tindrà tres opcions: convertir-se de manera estranya en President d'un dels partits majoritaris, cosa improbable, i postular-se a si mateix sense cap mena d'elecció per part de la gent del partit, acció marcadament poc democràtica; fundar un nou partit, el qual és el punt més difícil de fer tirar endavant; o la opció més pròpia d'un sistema com el que tenim i, alhora, la millor per el país: haurà de fer una sèrie de mèrits que el mostrin fidel a la causa d'un partit o col·lectiu per a que aquest accedeixi a postular-lo en les properes eleccions com a candidat a Faraó.


Per a ser-ho, hauràs de sortir al últim forat.

En el cas d'optar per la opció que el sentit comú ens mostra com a més correcta, la tercera, haurem de cridar l'atenció amb bones accions, les quals puguin afavorir de veritat el país. Aquí és on arriben les dificultats; i és que cap dels aspectes que puguin ser meritòris per a ascendre són fàcils d'assolir, ni hi ha cap dreçera, fora de que algú més poderós que el mateix individu faci bona propaganda d'ell (cosa que sempre, si es vol avançar, s'ha d'aconseguir). En qualsevol cas, s'haurà de treballar intentant sempre fer-ho en aquell aspecte que quadri més amb les qualitats del ciutadà en qüestió. O bé començant pels vMinisteris, prenent alguna embaixada, ajudant al partit a reclutar nous membres, fer articles que demostrin un bon domini de la premsa escrita... Sempre mirant que aquesta funció que s'adquireix reporti beneficis per la població, i com més quantiosos millor. Si això es fa, i es fa bé, en poc temps s'acabarà trepant fins un ministeri, i un cop allà a ningú se li farà estrany que aquest es presenti com a possible postulat per a Faraó pel partit que hagi triat en el cas de que la feina sigui aparentment ben feta fins aleshores. Si es fan eleccions per a triar aquest candidat i es superen, el individu s'haurà de centrar en aquell mateix moment en la campanya; si es tracta d'una derrota, haurà de seguir treballant dur per a conseguir ésser el postulat el mes següent i, sobretot, donar un suport sincer a l'escollit, per a obligar-lo moralment a ser recíproc el mes següent.
