Today, I am a newb

Day 960, 10:16 Published in USA USA by ligtreb

I've been around this game for a long time and I'd like to think I've been pretty good at it. Not anymore.

Today, I am a newb.
Today, we are all newbs.

V2 is a completely different game. No one is an expert yet about how it should be played.

This isn't necessarily a bad thing or a good thing. It will be a good thing if this game turns out to be fun (and not filled with bugs). It's only a bad thing for those of us who excelled at and enjoyed V1.

I and many others knew all of the basic strategies of V1 already -- how to efficiently work, train and boost your wellness, how to maximize fighting and battles, how to run businesses and what products to buy to fulfill your needs.

We don't know how to do any of that today. We think we do, but people will find better and improved strategies as V2 goes on.

To the newer players, you should be thrilled: The older people like me don't have nearly as large of an advantage over you as we used to. We no longer dominate you in fighting and making money, even with our migrated skills, because we don't know how best to use them yet. You might figure it out before us if you try.

To the older players, don't give up: We learned the old game which may have seemed simple to us, but wasn't for most people, as was shown by the thousands of players who quit the game. We've learned a game before, we can do it again. And besides, the politics, media and social modules haven't changed.

I got quite a shock this morning when I tried to work and train by clicking one button, as I've done nearly every morning for a year and a half. It wasn't that simple today.

I'm not quitting though, like I've seen many do already. I'm going to try and figure this game out, even if I feel like a newb today.

I was not looking forward to V2, but now that it's here, let's make the best of it.
