To Ukraine, From the United States

Day 806, 20:27 Published in Ukraine Bulgaria by Jewitt

I should add a "I <3 Ukraine" button to my collection.

3 February, 2010, Day 806 of the New World - Yesterday, as many of you in Ukraine know, I attacked a French original region. This caused our newly-minted Mutual protection Pact (MPP) to be canceled out - wasting 100 GOLD for both Ukraine and the United States.

This action is not a sign against our good will, but a sign that although nations are changing, nations also have to see that their interests are best served. Due to glitches and poor strategy on the part of the allies of the U.S., Spain, France was near getting initiative. Many who know the war module know that initiative is the winning factor in any war.

Although France meant no direct harm to the United States, it was our attack on the United Kingdom that made us uneasy. At this moment, France could attack regions in the United Kingdom that the United States was occupying. It would stop our campaign on the British Isles, and would allow the French to attack all over. So I had to make one of the hardest decisions of my Presidency: Attack France, activating all of those MPP's, or should I sit back and await the probable attack and end the war defeated?

Unfortunately, my decision destroyed our MPP we signed. For that, I apologize not only to the Ukrainian President (whom I have spoken with many times since the attack) but the Ukrainian people as a whole. I am still speaking with your President, to ensure that our nations continue to be on a progressive and peaceful record and that hopefully this issue with France will soon be over and can be put behind us.

Best Regards, from the United States.
Jewitt, President of the United States
