To the People of Portugal,

Do not lose hope.

The courageous resistance that you showed against the Spanish was inspiring. We have fought side by side against the tyranny of Spain - and have faced similar fates.

Hope is not lost. While the situation that both of our countries now face may be bleak, I have full confidence that the free world will unite to face this threat head on.

Stockpile your weapons, and be ready to rise up against your Spanish oppressors. A day will come when we will unite against the Spanish once again.

Pray that the Americans will rise up with us and face the Spanish threat head on.

Until then, I quote the words of Sir Winston Churchill, "Goodnight then: sleep to gather strength for the morning. For the morning will come. Brightly will it shine on the brave and true, kindly upon all who suffer for the cause, glorious upon the tombs of heroes. Thus will shine the dawn." Viva Portugal!
