Timeoin: Prime Ministerial Platform

Day 1,413, 16:14 Published in Australia Australia by Timeoin

As promised yesterday, today I release the rest of my platform for when I become Prime Minister. Most of these I mentioned last night during the Country Presidential debate, and thank you to all those who listened to that debate too.

First off, lets start with the Military.

Military

Much of the military strategy for this month will revolve around the situation that I have previously mentioned in my last article, regarding Foreign Affairs. The first priority is to get our regions back from New Zealand. If we have not already done so by the time that I am elected, I will send our forces to take back Tasmania (Queensland and NSW have already been returned) via Resistance Wars. If New Zealand wishes to fight, then we shall stand ready to defend against them. Then we shall, as a nation, move on to Indonesia. (For more information on this, see my previous article).

There will also be a number of promotional articles promoting the benefits of joining the Australian Defence Force (and, to make it fair, other allied Military Units as well). The goal of this is to get eAustralians involved in our military. Under my term, there will not be a training war. The reason for this, is that it degenerates too frequently into actual wars, and distracts from important battles elsewhere, given our opposing alliances and MPPs. However, the recent boosts that Admin gave citizens regarding training shall more than make up for the lack of a Natural Enemy.

Finally, given the most recent changes to Military Units, it is important to continue to ensure that our Military Units are fighting alongside the ADF effectively. By ensuring that they are fighting cohesively and strategically, we can offer members of the military units bonuses for fighting where we want them to fight, and get rewards for doing so.

TL😉R version:
1. See previous article for FA situation
2. Promotional Articles
3. Get Military Units linked more closely with ADF
4. Use Military Unit bonus incentives effectively.

Now on to Education.

Education
Education is going to play a critical role next month. It is not enough to gain back our regions:
Without a plan to ensure that new citizens get involved and keep playing the game, eAustralia will continue to find itself in the same position that it finds itself in right now.

There are few ways that I will combat this, and they all involve the Education department. As mentioned in the last section - there will be promotional articles listing the benefits of getting involved in a Military Unit. As will as this, there will be articles released periodically with things such as links to IRC and our forums, and the benefits of joining them, to encourage both new and old players to get more active in our community. After all, our community has, and always will be, our main strength.

The second way that this will be accomplished is through competitions. Back when I first started, Australia had an active community, and regularly held competitions in order to get people involved in the eAustralian community. I speak from personal experience when I say, if it wasn’t for things like that, I probably would not still be playing today, nearly 2 years later. I am sure that I am not the only one that this holds true for, either. Thus, bringing back competitions for newbies is highly important. Sure, times have changed somewhat. For instance, "Gifts" no longer exist, but there are other rewards that are just as effective. This will take a little bit of time, but it is the only way to guarantee that we continue to increase our community.

TL😉R version:
1. Articles about military
2. Articles about gameplay components
3. Links to IRC and forums: and benefits of each.
4. Competitions to get new players involved.

Information
Information is the final cornerstone of my campaign. This department has always been important to me personally. After all, this is the first Ministry I had that was actually my own, and since that time I have been Minister of Information 3 or 4 times. That is, as they say, ancient history though.

From a cabinet perspective, articles will be released one to two times per week updating citizens on the situational changes that have taken place during this time. Any more than this is just overkill, as most of the time, the situation does not change more than this. The only time this is not true is with regards to the Military, which is already covered under the Department of Defence newspaper.

Given my history as an advocate of open and transparent government, I am a firm believer in this. To this end, there are two things that shall be changed. First of all, the Senate speaker shall have full access to all cabinet discussions and documents, as it is important that both parts of the government work together cohesively, and Senate will be updated regularly on changes. The second, most important change, however, will be an open session with the senate. During my term, there shall be at least one (hopefully more than one) open Question and Answer session with the senate and my cabinet, where the senators can ask any questions to my cabinet team regarding, well... anything related to their departments. This is something that has never before been done, but I believe that it something that would be beneficial to both sections of government. Senate would benefit from this by being able to meet cabinet more personally, and ask anything that they wish to know. Cabinet, too, would benefit from this, as they not only would have an incentive to do their best, but they may even gain new insights into changes that could be made in their respective departments.

TL😃R Version:
1. Articles at least 1-2 times per week (anything more is overkill)
2. Senate Speaker to have full access
3. Senate and Cabinet to work closer together
4. Full Cabinet Q&A with Senate (never been done before)

These, then, make up the important changes that will take place during the next month when I am elected Prime Minister.

So vote for me on the 5th, and keep eAustralia eAustralian.
