Time to face the final curtain...

And so... the end is near...

I can't believe how lame this is - but I am going to join the list of people leaving this game as V2/Rising rolls in.

Since I started playing with the V2 beta a few weeks ago, my will to continue has seeped from me, and what I am left with now is someone who is of no use to anyone.

I am not going to criticise things and storm off in a rage. Things are different, but that is life - things change.

The things that changed though, detract from the enjoyment that I got from this game. The new military module confuses the hell out of me and takes far too long to get involved in. There are merits, I am sure, but I was never really a soldier anyway, so this was never going to draw me into that.

The massive gold consumption required to remain competitive is also a factor. As a matter of principal (call me a fool) I have never used gold to imporve anything - not a single training session with Napoleon or his buddies. The number of places that the game tries to take your gold now is sickening. In fact only this morning when I logged in, I had a message from my employer requesting that I use a gold booster each day, or he will cut my salary. This is despite being a "Guru*" Architect and 475 productivity. Sadly, I promptly quit my job. Which leads onto another issue - with so many career paths, it is now very difficult to find a job in some areas.

So, while I refuse to condemn the changes and quit in a rage, quit I will.

Some older players may recall that I quit once before, only to return a year later. In order to avoid this temptation, I will ask the admin to delete this account, or do something stupid until I get a premanent ban (a la Emerick). As I was elected into congress, I plan to see out this term. I promised to do so, and all congress discussions I have remained a part of. In fact, I have spent much more time reading the congress boards than being in-game.

This gives me some time to get things in order. As I have some things to offload, I thought long and hard about how to do so.

I currently operate a Q1 housing company and a Q2 Air units Company.
These will require a new home. I decided upon the following format-
I will run a competition, and give away my organisation - including all businesses and cash / gold in it - to the winner.

The runner up will recieve all cash / gold in my citizens possesion.

To enter, write an article. I want to help the next generation of eJapanese citizens - the ones who must come forward now in V2 and take the place of the old and tired politicians like myself.
Write an article outlining a problem - any problem regarding eJapan - and propose a way that it could be solved, or at least improved. The most sensible idea wins.

Not many people are likely to miss me - I long outlived my usefulness in most peoples eyes, and some people are far too cynical to accept a player who doesn't look to improve his own situation at all times. I would like to say that it was a good experience playing this game - a fun way to spend a few hours each day. It was also a great way to take up time that should have been spent on other things - most of which are far more productive.

I feel no sadness in leaving. I am relieved to be free of this game at last. When a game feels like a responsibility, it's best to leave it be.

NOTE: If no-one gives a shit about the competition, I guess I will just randomly select a winner and that will be that.
