Summary

My aim is to start early and, hopefully, get a head start!

Analysis

With the exception of November I have stood for each election over the last six months and had mixed results Progress.

Comparing my results to those of the winner it's clear that while I've made some progress I'm still a long way behind, Comparison.

Questions

- Why have I always done so badly?
- How can I do better?

Discussion

I think it's clear that in many cases many of my opponents in elections have been playing far longer than I have and therefore it is reasonable to assume they have more experience, often having done something before, and more support, being more widely known amongst fellow players, than I am.

This does not mean that they are going to be any better at a role than I am, or that I am any less able. Remember, everyone has to start somewhere.

Nor does it mean that their policies or their results would be any better than mine.

While many of my opponents have more experience than I do and there is nothing I can do about that I am in control of promoting myself and it's reasonable to assume the more I do this, the better I'll do.

Why me?

Change, Improvement, Progress

Change
I want to increase member activity, get more people involved, let everyone be heard and give everyone a chance.

Improvement
I want to improve things for everyone, I believe everyone has a voice and I believe everyone's voice should be heard.

Progress
I want to stop this fluctuation in votes and continue the trend that appears to have started.

I want to make us the clear number one party in terms of activity as well as members.

Vote for change, vote for improvement, vote for progress, vote for me.

I've been playing for 17 days and have now been voted in as Region 1 Captain for The Legion. I don't think being a new player has anything to do with it. To win votes I made this article. http://www.erepublik.com/en/article/region-1-captain-the-legion-2212865/1/20 I then followed this up with a personal e-mail to everyone I know could vote. Time and effort is what pays.

You're entirely right.

To win any election, you should write an article, contact those people who you want votes from, tell them why they should vote for you. And use the shout-feed. If you aren't known, then no one will vote for you.

Having a memorable name also helps a lot 😛
