Thus spoke Sun Tzu...

Day 587, 14:13 Published in Romania Poland by Qubusd

"If the enemy's troops march up angrily and remain facing ours for a long time without either joining battle or taking themselves off again, the situation is one that demands great vigilance and circumspection." - Sun Tzu

The defenders of Slavonia managed to hold our lines in face of Hungarian onslaught. Still, we have underestimated the cunningness of our enemy. Fighting in Croatian mountains drew our attention from Zagreb, where Serbian PEACE members struck, overthrowing our allies' congress. A spectatular victory of the Intermarum* has been diminished by our foe's backstab. This explains his relative lack of activity in Slavonia.

So far, the Croatian intergrity is not in danger. Until the 5th of July, we have to deal with a delicate balance of powers. If proPEACE faction manages to put thier candidate on Croatian president's post - then chances will sway towards Hungary and Serbia. Needless to say, this will be a catastrophy for the Intermarum. All of the former ATLANTIS has to muster its strenght and act, before it is too late.**

Hungarian ambassador in Poland - Baytek - told me that naming an alliance fighting against Serbia and Russia "a Slavic one" is a contradiction.*** I'm most eager to answer him - why is Russia a part of PEACE? Is it this because PEACE helped the Russians unify their lands? Supported her economy? Made Russia a considerable power of the New World? I'm afraid not - instead, PEACE occupies Russia's most valuable lands, turned her into a skeleton state. I believe that sooner or later, Russia will break her chains and use the "explosion of players" - as the babyboom is called there - to fight the tyranny of PEACE. I'm no politician - but I count on Intermarum's governments to present a reasonable aid to Russia, give her a chance to participate in stabilising the New World. To participate as a member - not a slave state, supporting other war machines with resources and funds.

As for Serbia - the choice is yours. Now you stand united along the stronger ones - Hungary and Russia. But which path shall you take, should PEACE's unity shatter?

Losing Croatian Congress made it impossible for Slavonia to become a turning point of this war. But the current stalemate won't last forever - a breakthrough shall happen one way or another. We must be ready to strike our enemies' weak points, to cripple them beyond recovery. I'll once again quote the master of warfare:
"Disciplined and calm, to await the appearance of disorder and hubbub amongst the enemy:--this is the art of retaining self-possession."

Gloria!

* -> (Latin "a region between seas") - I believe this is a good proposition of temporal name for post-ATLANTIS name, since our power's concentrated between three seas - the Baltic (Sweden and Poland), the Adriatic (Croatia) and the Black Sea (Romania).

** -> When yesterday I was writing the original - Polish - version of this article, there was no word of a possible Croatian peace with Hungary. Still, I believe that preventing PEACE's complete TO in Croatia remains our priority.

*** -> In my first article I stated that a "Slavic alliance" (meaning Poland and Croatia, along with Romania and our other allies) shall stop the "Hungarian tide" in Slavonia. Translating this article into English, I started to fear whether you might find this term offensive - but decided to leave it as it was. We should fight against PEACE, not squabble over possibly incorrect use of adjactives.
