Throwing my hat into the ring for the next congress/senate elections

Day 728, 03:09 Published in Australia Australia by whitelaughter
I intend to run in Tasmania during the next congress elections.

EDIT: I will be running as a member of the Australian National Party.

Why Tasmania?
Tasmania is the furthest state from our borders, and so deserves to be built up as a final stronghold in the event of invasion. As senator I will lobby for a Hospital to be placed in Tasmania; I will also work to ensure that companies there have hundreds of job offers available so that retreating eAussies can continue to work while defending the state - and produce the weapons that will be needed to do so.

This may seem alarmist, especially given the fine work which has been done, protecting eAustralia with Alliances and training wars; and I certainly hope that my work will prove unnecessary.
However the current eIsraeli crisis shows how easy it for a country to be mismanaged into disaster - better to prepare now, rather than wait for a crisis here. (I can assure everyone that I don't expect such a disaster: this is simply the prudent course to take).

What do I hope to achieve for eAustralia?
With the liberation of Western Australia, the biggest problem facing eAustralia is that our workers are scattered across too many companies - and worse, in companies that cannot possibly make a profit. eAustralia has only Medium resources of Iron and Wood - companies in these industries are halving the producitvity of their workers!
If we are to thrive, we cannot continue to waste ecitizens and Gold to produce overpriced Wood and Iron! We have ninety workers in these industries - industries that only survive by war profiteering, bullying the Government Hospital and Weapons companies into buying their products - which actively undermines our ability to defend ourselves!

If these workers are moved to the Grain and Diamonds industries, we will effectively gain an additional 45 workers, as their productivity doubles, while our productive companies will find it easier to reach ideal worker numbers.
Therefore my two proposed pieces of legislation will be to increase the taxes on Wood and Iron to 50% respectively. I will happily "log roll": that is, support other senators legislation in return for their support of mine.

In part my willingness to do this is due to a high regard for the ideas I have heard mooted in eAussie society recently - especially the need to reform both the Senate and Military, to increase the involvement of new players; and to protect our finances from future thefts.

Who am I?
I am solidly pro-war faction, and was fighting eIndonesia long before it was fashionable to do so. You can read about my early elife here. While I don't hold a grudge against eIndonesia, I also don't see the need for a treaty with them either; our alliances with Sol and EDEN are far more valuable.

What next?

I hope you will consider voting for me - but whether you do or not, you can count on my support, aid and advice in whatever problems you have. eAustralia can only grow strong if we look out for one another and share our skills and insights.
