Thoughts

Day 1,207, 11:22 Published in Ireland Ireland by Nephworks

Evening ladies and gentlemen. Just wanted to get an article out there to sum up some thoughts I've been having about the game and eIreland lately.

The Irish Army
As some of you know I have been working as the Chief of Staff of the eIrish armies for the last month and a half with some success. I do think the Irish Army is achieving good results but there is still a lot of room for improvement.

Good bits:
companies are up and running well
a good core of active soldiers
supply system is in place
good stock of weapons and food built up

Bad bits:
supply system is tempermental
large scale co-ordination is proving difficult

Despite the good and the bad, people like James Ferrin and our Taoiseach Digits are working on ideas to solve issues and improve our army which is why I am happy to work alongside them. In the event of an emergency I believe we will really see the full strength of the IA.

PTOers
Letting in a couple of eUkers was stupid and now we have to put up with their articles more often than usual. Pity that they get elected but it's not surprising considering our population. Their aim to make eIreland uninhabitable seems a bit odd as I imagine most eIirsh who leave here will head to the eUK to spite the eBrits in any way possible. They might not get citizenship but there are other ways to mess up a country without getting into government. Kinda wish this whole PTO thing was not going on atm as I felt relations with the eUK were improving amid talk of training wars.

eRepublik
It seems that some interesting changes are on their way as new features are added to the game. Some of the past additions have not gone down very well but the addition of military units and national orgs seems promising. In all honesty I think this game was better a year ago but I will continue to play with the hope that the game will improve again.

eIreland
We have had a string of good presidencies in the last few months as well as an end to the old bickering that used to cause many a facepalm. I get a worrying feeling we are slipping slightly back towards those old times now but the unity over the past few months has pushed us forward.

In closing I'd just like to remind people to keep a tough skin and a mature mind if you want to help eIreland.
Also, remember that this is a game and is just a pale shadow of real life. To model things on real life will cause problems and weakness. Use the game rules and mechanics to your advantage if you want to suggest new ideas. This is the New World and there is no reason at all to model our systems and ideas on the real world.

Thanks for readin,
