This is a Gun Held to Your Head

Day 2,857, 00:39 Published in USA USA by Dio Soryu

The Following is a Public Service Announcement:

I noticed that all these parties suck so I decided to make my own party, with hookers and blackjack. In fact, forget the... oh, I won already. Alright. We'll make it work.

Anyway, America has a problem. I think I put it pretty well in one of my arguments made in public Congress. It's probably going to be something most people aren't going to like hearing and it puts me at odds with basically everyone. But, (expletive deleted) it, I'm taking no prisoners.

Quote from Public Congress:
Oh, I'm sure the MU's would hate this for one very simple reason.

As it stands, they're in a position where they dictate to the Government and the Government has no leverage. If someone feels like telling the NSC to (expletive deleted) itself, there's no reason not to; no reason to consider tempering its position and no reason to be rational. They hold all the cards.

Frankly, I've no idea how the (expletive deleted) you all designed such weak and completely backwards system.

This wouldn't force MU's to do anything, but it would give them a good reason to think long and hard before getting drastic. It creates incentives for both sides to cooperate with each other.

Give the MU's a reason to work with the Government. Give players a reason to get active in their MU's.

And this all gives the Government a reason to keep everyone happy.

You guys have built a system in which every MU is a rogue nation within the US and we all just hope everyone bumbles in the right direction when we put up CO's and we'll just buy everyone's loyalty on the back-end, where it's the most expensive.

I'm going to be really honest here.

I'm starting to think most of these objections are more based around the fact that it might just create good incentives and, as much as that might help create a cohesive society and better leadership, it would require everyone to give up some of their cards. And you'd all rather be able to tell the Executives 'Royal Flush again, bitch!' than take the chance on dealing America a better hand to play against the rest of the world.

You guys don't want leadership and you don't want a stronger America.

You want a punching bag.

Now, that was stated in a pretty specific context but I think it applies even more broadly than that. It also applies to our political parties approach to Governance, with each Party and MU using Congress as a tool to bludgeon to death any chance we have at real leadership; the kind of leadership that's willing to take risks and make big plays, willing to do the kind of shit that's fun for the player to engage in.

Normally, this would be the place where our opposition parties step in and force the establishment to examine itself. But, here's the thing, our opposition parties have got it backwards. Somewhere along the line, they've lost track of the conversation. Because our opposition seems to be more interested in just opposing things and looking good than really having any point to make.

So we're left in a situation where Congress is holding a gun to the President's head at all times and our opposition parties are holding a (much smaller) gun to Congresses head, demanding Congress should pull the trigger.

Don't get me wrong. There are a lot of really smart people in Congress.

Problem is, most of them are more interested in looking smart than achieving anything. They've already achieved enough and are comfortable resting on their laurels and the election structure basically allows them to do so.

Anyway, I don't know where I was going with all that, really.

I just wanted you to know that the Kool Kidz Klub™ is back.

Lock your fucking doors, bitches.

Love,
