Things We're Oblige'd to Tell You

Well folks, I've been under the weather with some sort of flu. My apologies on getting this interview out so late. Hey polls are open and will not be closing for another six or so hours. Make your vote count.

Things We’re Oblige’d to Tell You

I got the chance to catch up with our incumbent President whilst election fever was in full swing. First thing on my mind was, with all due bluntness, why should we elect him again? So I opened the interview with Oblige with a simple question to try to put everything into perspective. In his first term, where did he garner the most success personally?

“The biggest success of my first term, that I led personally, was the victory in Aquitaine. It was my first day in office and that one victory turned the tide of the war against Serbia. This in turn led to our successful invasion of Polish occupied France and Germany. Between the battle coordination, calling on allies, the war materiel distribution, and the donation from Canada; it was absolutely exhausting.”

The leader of one of the most powerful nations in the eWorld also needs to be able to lead his or her people. Personal success is not the only thing our nation needs to survive, assisting others to succeed is the path to greatness. My next question continued on this line of thought; What projects have you encouraged to grow under your administration?

“The revival of our media department, first under Gnilraps and then under Israel Stevens. We've gone above and beyond my WHPR schedule, published articles about TERRA, etc. We have even revived The Pony Express. Ensured DOD orders are updated every day (sometimes more). And lastly is the broadcast of eNPR.”

I am assuming you'll be keeping your cabinet about the same? Are you looking for anyone to fill any vacancies of either existing or future positions?

“I am going to keep most everyone where they are at; however, each senior secretary is training a vice secretary to fill their shoes. I am making a major investment in the infrastructure of America, our human infrastructure. The application for those positions are available here: cabinet app / intern app.”

Would you care to make a projection on how long it will take us to retake France?

“It will be done by the end of the week. Serbia is retreating, and they have already cut their frontier with us. They are letting France take back PAA right now. There seems to be no reason for them to continue holding on to their foreign territories.”

Any feelers sensing a counter attack? Or is that a little too sensitive of a topic?

“No and no.”

Moving on to my last question, its about taxes...

“The USA has the best tax structure out there in my opinion, one that we've spent some extensive time tweaking and modifying. At the moment we're nearing our targeted reserves in the country treasury and may be close to a tax reduction. However, a major wrench in that plan has potentially been thrown by the Polish, who started a small ticket campaign to increase the country treasury limit. I'm not sure how that will pan out.”

Seems that was an answer you really wanted to get out there. I am sure you've heard some of the folks have been agitating about an increased VAT tax system. Would you say it was worth a "economic experiment" two days at the most to gauge feasibility?

“We've done the experiment before. We've tried a more VAT based system, but it just did not raise the revenue to compensate for a lower income tax rate. When we had to account for the new budget constraints of the war economy, we originally tried raising the VAT. It did not produce the increases income we expected, so we raised it again, and again, and then gave up. In the end we shifted back to income tax model.”

So in other words, a pipe dream.

“That is correct”
