There's no Oil in Alberta?
Rigour6
Some of us wish the versimilitude in this game to be as high as practical.
RL Canada holds the second highest number of confirmed oil reserves in the world. If one includes tar sands, 98% of Canada's oil is in Alberta. If you wish to speak of only conventional oil so that you discount the tar sands completely, RL Alberta still has more than twice as much oil and natural gas as Newfoundland and Labrador.
Maybe it's better strategically for Canada if Alberta is classed as a "low oil" region. But it's certainly not accurate.

Yes I always thought the same thing...
But then again the New World isn't the same as the old world...
Yeah, I always found that to be pretty dumb. Newfoundland has high oil yet Alberta has none? It should be ALberta with High Oil and Newfoundland with medium oil, if you are attempting RL similarities.
If we added a High Oil though that would give Alberta three high resources, alone with Grain and Wood. And look what happened to Western Siberia because of all it's resources?
I tried mounting a "Give Alberta High Oil, and give Quebec High Iron" campaign a few months back, but it never got off the ground.
