The War in Summary

Day 861, 14:23 Published in Canada Canada by Auk Rest

Welcome again, all my readers, to my weekly war review. Now, let us begin.

The World Gets a Little More Free

Something that seems to have subtletly passed by was the recent steps taken by conquered or partly conquered countries to free themselves from their overlords. In France and Germany, a lot of new territory was freed, all from Spain because Spain held almost all German and French territory with the exclusion of Hamburg (Sweden), Berlin (Poland), and Rhone Alps (Poland).

PHOENIX used this and gave France back 2 regions, and Germany managed to reclaim three regions. Croatia launched an assault on Germany and they now have an Austrian region under their belt, soon to be two.

South Africa also managed to wage a successful resistance war in time for congress in the Northern Cape region. Coincidentally or not, it is also a titanium region, which will be greatly helpful to South Africa in V2. The first thing the freed South Africans did was to impeach the PTO president Ronell.

In addition, the United States conquered the Philippines to route a PTO, which I believe worked, as the USA is now fighting red in Phillipine resistance wars, though half of the country is still sealed by the United States, and Phillipine territory is spread out all over China still.

For these conquered countries, I believe South Africa will have to wait a while to become more free, and that eventually all France will be brought back with the exclusion of Spain's high wood in Aquitaine and Poland's high wood in Rhone Alps. In Germany, all territory will be returned with the exception of Berlin and Hamburg, controlled by Poland and Sweden respectably.

Austria and Western Europe

Austria has been a battleground for its neighbors for a long time now, invaded by both Hungary and Croatia, Austria is geographically in a terrible position right now between EDEN and PHOENIX. Followed by the failed assault on Rhone Alps in France, Croatia decided to use its MPPs and take Hungary out of Austria.

They conquered the country and attempted an attack on Germany, but of course failed with no MPPs against Germany, and Hungary, Serbia, Russia and Brazil MPPs activated, the Croatians wisely resistance warred some Austrian territory to keep Germany away from them.

The Situation in Finland

Fellow EDEN member Finland attacked Russia a week ago, knowing the country would likely be destroyed. They did this in an attempt to get a Finnish baby boom. Looking at Russia's citizens (which would also include Finnish territories), it appears as though Finland has gained 2000-3000 new players, though this still would only give them ~4000-5000 citizens, it is more than before. The only problem now is getting a resistance war to succeed.

Norway and Sweden have attempted to help their ally by attacking Lapland, a Finnish territory captured by Russia, but without MPPs against Russia, it will be helpless. EDEN will need to put up a big resistance effort to save Finland.

Conclusion

With the exclusion of two invasions and resistance wars, not much has happened this past week. These newly won territories are putting France, Germany and South Africa one step closer to being free.
