Join the new world

Hello this is the first Official Article by The United Left. We are a new International Leftist Organisation. This article is a long one, it includes why the organisation was founded. An outline of how The United Left is ran and how you can get involved in our growing movement.



Creation
The United left was created recently in order to create a left wing movement for all people. We began within the eComitern (eCommunist International) When Immanuel Kant was asked to lead the eComitern.

As Secretary General Kant tried to bring about major reforms these were accepted by the governing council however rejected by an angry member. This individual member attacked the changes as "Socialists Diluting Communism." It was clear that because of this member clinging to the past reform would be impossible.

This resulted in Several key members including the Secretary General and Spokesman to resign because of hostility to socialists and an apparent veto power by some members.

It was obvious there needed to be a movement that was open to anyone from Anarchist to Centre-Left. The exclusive nature that we encountered in the eComitern is intrinsically wrong.

All of us on the left have some common ground we at The United Left belive in all leftists working together to achieve common ground.



Leadership

Secretary General and Deputy Secretary General
The Secretary General and Deputy Secretary General are both elected positions.Any member of the organisation can stand for either position. Slates are allowed because they ensure better cooperation between the SG and dSG however they are not essential.

These positions will be elected by the membership. Every member will receive one vote. Political parties can openly support and endorse candidates however the party as an entity will not get a vote, only members of the organisation within the party have voting rights.

If the Secretary General resigns then the deputy Secretary General will be the acting SG, but he must call an election as soon as possible. The election will be for both SG and dSG. However if the dSG resigns then there will only be an election for dSG.


Committee
The Committee will be selected by the Secretary General with support from the deputy Secretary General. The committee must be made up of members of the organisation. The committee will be involved in the day to day running of the organisation, and any member of the committee can be removed by the Secretary General at any time.

Factions
In order to be an official fraction you must be agreed on by the Secretary General and Deputy Secretary General. The idea behind Fractions is to allow groups of like minded people to have a voice in the way this movement is ran. Factions

The Current Fractions are a Communist Faction, Socialist Faction, Anarchist Faction and a Centre-Left Faction.

If 50% of Faction Leaders support an impeachment of either the SG or the dSG then a referendum will be held. In this referendum every member of the organisation will be able to vote.


National Representatives
Every country is entitled to have a national representative. The National Representative will be elected every two months. The national representative will be responsible for organising members in their country. This includes documenting how many Congress seats members of the organisation gets.



Membership and Affiliation.
1. Anyone can be a member.
2. Membership to join will be free. However all donations are appreciated.
3.The Leadership remain the right to be able to suspend and expel members from the organization in exceptional circumstances.
4. All members will get one vote in elections, excluding regional elections where only members of that country will be eligible to vote.
5. Any Left wing party can Affiliate to The United Left and this will mean they will be included in localised TUL party discussions.

Because we are a new organisation we have some vacancies anyone who is a member of The United Left can apply for a Committee Position. Below is a list of the positions available and what their function is.

About the Roles

Deputies
Deputies rather obviously will assist and be accountable to their officers. The role and responsibility of Deputies will be decided by the individual officers so it may vary from term to term. In the event that an Officer resigns the deputy will temporarily take over.

Secretary General
The Secretary General along with his Deputy are responsible for the overall management of the organisation. They have the ability to remove members of the Committee who are underperforming.

Spokesperson
The Spokesperson is responsible for writing and publishing articles, the content will be decided by the whole Committee but the way in which this is presented is purely up to the Spokesperson.

Secretary of Foreign Affairs
The Secretary of Foreign Affairs is fairly self explanatory. We are constantly on the look out to expand our membership throughout the world. This includes encouraging other people to sign up and trying to gain party affiliations. They are also responsible for making sure the committee is well informed regarding parties and members.

Campaign Coordinator
The Campaign Coordinator is responsible for getting Leftist candidates elected. If anyone needs help proofreading manifesto's or advice on the best way to Campaign then they should speak to the Campaign Coordinator.

Factions
When you join The United Left you will be asked which faction you most identify with Anarchist, Centre-Left, Communist or Socialist. Each Faction will have a representative to argue and represent the views of their members
