The Time Lord For Northern Ireland

Day 1,068, 14:37 Published in United Kingdom USA by The Time Lord

When I first started playing eRepublik nearly two months ago I, like most new players, was eager to get involved in the game at a deeper level than just clicking “Work”, “Train”, and “Fight” every day. I wanted to do more to help our great country and to have a greater impact on the future of this game. I tried to bring a higher level of activity to the game than just mindlessly clicking those three buttons each day, and in that pursuit I poured over the eRep Wiki and eUK forums. I read up on the past of the game, our nation, and our alliances. Now, as a much more informed player, I feel that I want to take another step. That is why I am running for Congress in Northern Ireland.

I realize that I’m a relatively new player in eRepublik, and while some might see this as a weakness, I see it as a strength. New players bring new ideas to the Congress and to the country. As I’ve already said, by extensively studying the Wiki and our national forum I feel that I have a firm grasp on the majority of the mechanics of the game. As such, I won’t be afraid to stand up for my ideas in discussions with older players when I think those ideas can help the nation. I’d like to give a brief idea of what kind of ideas I would pursuit if elected on the 25th.

Military
This past month has been a rough one for the eUK military. Because of a lapse in security we lost thousands of Gold, military companies, and most importantly opportunities. While we worked, and are still working, to recover what we lost we were vulnerable as a nation and unable to fully assist our allies. This must never happen again. If elected I would work to ensure that we learn our lesson from our past mistakes and tighten security in the military. While the military shouldn’t be run by Congress, it does need to be watched over to make sure that the taxpayer’s money is being used wisely.

Economy
This module of the game has been undergoing dramatic changes over the past several months. I think that a careful monitoring of our nation’s tax policies is critical to maximizing our nation’s economic strength. If elected I would work to make sure that our tax rates are balancing the interests of individual citizens and business owners.

Alliances
With new countries being added to eRepublik for the first time in a long time it will be critical that we establish good relationships with abroad. By actively pursuing new allies we can strengthen our national defense, and with the recent changes in Mutual Protection Pact rules, our ability to go on the offensive will benefit as well. Increasingly military battles in eRep aren’t decided by strategy or any one nation’s strength, but by the strength of the alliances a nation keeps. If elected I will strongly advise a proactive policy in foreign affairs that keeps these facts in mind.

I’d like to close by saying that I view election to public office as a great honor. Those elected hold a responsibility to the voters and to the nation to serve the eUK as best they can. If elected no one will be able to question my dedication and activity. I will work hard to live up to the trust that the voters place in me and to strengthen England. I would greatly appreciate your vote on the 25th and would close by thanking you for your time.
