Welcome to the mini-series 'The Struggle for Freedom!'. In this series, each friendly country will be featured and analyzed. There will be two main sections, the stats and the analysis. The analysis will describe the country and its situation in more detail. The stats will be split into three parts: strength, importance, and loyalty.
Strength defines the country's raw ability to fight. It involves its population, experience, resources, money, and amount of land. It is NOT based on strength relative to countries near it.
Importance describes the country's value to the alliance. While all countries are cared for, some countries naturally have more to offer. Though power may play a minor role, it is mostly rated based on geography and its presence in various regions. Those with an ability to directly fight major battles are considered more important.
Loyalty details how much the country attempts to help others in the alliance, and generally being a good buddy. It includes having MPPs, giving back lands to allies, helping in battles, and many other minor factors. Loyalty also is based in how long the country has been allied; while long-time friends tend to be more loyal, new additions often need to prove their worth.

Singapore (1/1/9)
Good 'ol Singapore certainly doesn't lack bravery for standing up to its stronger neighbors, but besides that, there aren't many compliments to be had for Singapore. A small country by nature, Singapore doesn't pack much of a punch in its rare skirmish. Then again, there's nowhere to fight for Singapore, unless counting neutral Malaysia or way too powerful Indonesia are counted. Its loyalty to its friends aside, there's not much going for Singapore.
Taiwan/Republic of China (7/3/8)
The irony of China and ROC allied aside, Taiwan is amazingly powerful in its own right; its strength lands it solidly in the second tier below only the US and China itself. Taiwan has shown its strength, completely wiping South Korea, and resisting Indonesian revolts. They also managed to hold onto Japan until their brethren were strong enough to revive. However, there are few borders for ROC to attack from, and there have been occasional lapses in judgement for the Taiwanese.
Turkey (3/4/6)
Destined to endless battles with Bulgaria, Turkey doesn't have the strength to hold down Bulgaria for an extended period of time. While their victory over them a couple of weeks ago was sweet, it was short-lived, and Turkey has once again become a puppet of their overlords. Though having a border with Bulgaria is nice, even when they manage to wipe Bulgaria, Serbia's quick to push them back, making their usefulness limited. They've also had disputes with Greece, due to issues that aren't easily ignored.
Ukraine (6/7/8)
Did you know that Ukraine nearly has as many provinces as Russia? They're also almost as strong! Ukraine has managed to hold off Moldova and Slovakia on their own, and have the potential to attack Hungary. Not too shabby. Also, they have a border with buddy Romania, so they can come to the rescue at any time. Their one problem is their war with Moldova, who many see as friends. Other than that, though, Ukraine is a surprisingly strong country with many chances to grow its already vast empire.
Uruguay (1/1/9)
Yes, Uruguay is in this game. Yes, Uruguay is part of the alliance. No, it doesn't make much of a difference. Allied purely to stay alive (Brazil and Argentina on their front door), Uruguay has little to offer. With no enemy borders and a negligible army, Uruguay's only saving grace is that it does what it's told. Then again, if it didn't it would get chewed up in an instant. And they don't want that, do they?
USA (10/6/10)
Yes, all Americans would say, "I'm the hero!", and they'd be perfectly inclined to say that. The US is scarily powerful, not beaten easily, and with borders with Russia, Japan, Spain, France, and a boatload of others, they can get around and munch on foreign lands on a whim. They're easily the leader of Terra, being one of the founders and the strongest country in the alliance. Yep, there's not an easy way to beat America. Isn't that right, Spain?

Taiwan, if yo look at the Stats, is not a very large country. They only have around 3,000 people. However, their neighbors suck even more, so they appear more powerful. If they were in europe, they would be crushed instantly.
I see your points for Turkey, but although they can't keep Bulgaria down for long, the can certainly wipe them on and off after being themselves wiped. They are almost equal in strength to the Bulgarians, one of the strongest in the game. They should not in anyway be downplayed to a 2, they are among the strongest in TEDEN by sheer numbers alone.
I haven't seen much to give Turkey a high rating. When Turkey was winning, it was because we had resources to spare, giving us the advantage. But when Turkey was fighting alone, when all our troops were in France and Spain, they got swept. That's why I gave them a 2.
As for Taiwan, they've been able to keep Indonesia from expanding up north, and they're pretty big themselves. While their army is small, it's by no means weak. Plus, no one cares about the East, so it's usually a 1v1 battle.
I'm not one to be nice to Turkey, because quite frankly, I don't like them. Besides that, they certainly aren't as strong as Poland or Serbia or the US, but they can hold their own at times. They just the lack coordination and will to make the important shots. Their loyalty at a 6 is good, the locale importance is good, but the strength just can't be that close to Singapore or Uruguay, or be the exact same as the Netherlands and Italy is mostly all I'm saying.
