The Socialist Manifesto: Be Free!

Day 1,452, 08:53 Published in Switzerland Switzerland by Monsieur Guillontine

Salut comrades!

The Swiss Reformists Party is no more. What has broken out of its cocoon is a butterfly, ready to progress and fly towards the sky, carrying Switzerland along with it. My fellow Swiss brothers and sisters, the time for change has come, and now, the time has come for all who want a better Switzerland to drop their hammers and sickles and to join the Swiss Socialist Society!

The Swiss Socialist Society Program

Independence

Freedom. That is probably the Swiss Socialist Society’s biggest goal which we want to achieve. As of now, Switzerland is not fully independent. The lack of our nation’s liberation has been an issue for countless months now, and we must understand that aggression is not always the solution. The Swiss Socialist Society has confidence in all methods to bringing about Switzerland’s independence. Whether it is through diplomatic negotiations or forceful revolutions, no matter which path we must follow to attain freedom, the Swiss Socialist Society will always support either method, when proper circumstances arise.

Swiss Youth Academy

Currently in Switzerland, there are many military units for citizens to choose from, whether it is the Swiss Guard or the Swiss Armed Forces. However, it is evident that there is no military unit designated for new players. The Swiss Socialist Society therefore believes that it is crucial for a military unit to be set up, whose specific purpose will be to not only mentor new citizens, but also provide them with food to fight in battles. By allowing younger players to receive help which is desperately needed when they first embark on their new journey, the future of Switzerland will be able to secure loyal, experienced citizens.

Referendums

Equally essential to the foundation of Switzerland, in order to make sure that the government is not abusing its authority over the Swiss people, the Swiss Socialist Society advocates for the government to activate referendums when major decisions are to be made. Major decisions would include proposals such as a declaration of war or an impeachment. The people of Switzerland deserve the right to vote on what they sense is the best for their country. Ultimately, it is up to them. Therefore, by expanding representation directly to the people, Congress will not be overpowering, and in addition, the common man will then be able to participate in Switzerland’s affairs.

Fun

Last, the Swiss Socialist Society wants to ensure that eRepublik is still just a game. And so, we should treat this as a game. It's all about the fun, right? Therefore, the Swiss Socialist Society would like to have some events going on in the Swiss community such as Quiz Bowls or Lotteries. Sometimes, it is good to forget about quarrels, and instead relax with some entertainment. In addition, everyone knows that it is quite enjoyable to debate over hot topics like negotiating with the Slovenians or fighting for Swiss pride. Of course, we might not reach any agreements, but the fact that a multi-party state exists allows for all our opinions to be expressed freely. That's why although the Swiss Socialist Society's views on some subjects may seem radical compared to another party's, we all still look forward to making Switzerland a better place, no matter how different our solutions may be.

Why Join the Swiss Socialist Society?

The Swiss Socialist Society welcomes all. We listen to everyone's opinion when discussing our party’s policies as well as decisions. Our society therefore treats everyone equally, and does not discriminate against anyone’s ideas. So now, the time for change has come. It is up to people like you, who decide the fate of Switzerland. Do you want change? Do you want progress? Do you want freedom? If you believe in Switzerland’s success, it is time for you to begin working for our community, somehow, somewhere. And that somehow and somewhere is right here, right now.

Be Free! Join the Swiss Socialist Society! Change Switzerland forever!

Yours Truly,
Monsieur Guillontine
Chairman of the Swiss Socialist Society
