The SDP forum, polls and participative democracy.

Day 976, 13:11 Published in United Kingdom United Kingdom by SDP Party

I must apologize for the recent "suspension" of democracy in some of the party institutions, there was an urgent need to bring all infighting to a halt and set up a new improved system to get our members opinions in a calm and representative way.

People say the Party President is what makes or breaks a party, some would say it is active membership that makes a sunny day. I tend to disagree with both these statements, every member of a party is what makes a party, regardless of their amount of activity. Spending a few minutes or many hours connected to eRepublik makes you an eCitizen.

We managed to set up a few easy ground rules to make this work out. Mutual respect and free speech are hard to reconcile. Let us hope we have found the right balance. There will be a set of rules concerning polls, the Party President will be the first responsable to oversee the fact that polls are conducted fairly. A Court has also been established to solve disputes that get out of hand.

What does every member need to do ?
