Essentially, a "YES" vote gives the President of the United States Commander-in-Chief status over the military.
(Bet you thought he already WAS CIC, in the United States, right? Not yet)
A "NO" vote lets the unelected military remain ultimately answerable to no one, although Congress has the ability to completely un-fund (a draconian and rediculous proposition, leaving us momentarily defenseless) the military.
As in the real life United States, the military should be answerable to an elected official, and therefore work for us, with our money. They are not a seperate entity in entirely, in any democracy, and with taxpayer dollars.
Support your Congressman and your President in PASSING (voting "Yes"😉

As a citizen of the eUS I do not support this "revision." It only gives more power to the President, which I don't agree with. It takes away checks and balances when it comes to the military. I think there should be more than one person who should decide on whether an attack is necessary. If the President has full control over the people and the military then there is no stopping him.
Just a side note, but since he has control over the entire military doesn't that mean he can tell them how to vote?

Hmm very interesting. I really thought it was like RL, but in reality I guess it depends on who you are most loyal to. I guess loyalty and respect is the most important then who is in charge..
If something like this was implemented, a massive pto would cripple the nation even more than it could already.
I think it best not to support this, and consider the dangers of what this brings.
The "unelected military" may be unelected, but it can still only do one thing. Fight. And it does do the job and very well.
The eUS has an outstanding military, flexible and organized.
If it were up to me, I Would Not be willing to risk the possiblity, of having one single person throw a childish hissyfit, and ruin crucial moments of fighting, due to congress hurting their little feelings.
Nor would I like the risk of them going on a foolhearted rampage for their own glory, perhaps toward the end of their term, or out of some sheer bratty boredom, that could leave the military bare of funding and supplies, the nation lesser in reputation, as well as left in a bad war situation.

Enough people in this game already run for office just for the accomplishment of it. Rather than to purely see the furtherance of the eUS.
That much, I see a bit less of in the members of the army.
I think the RL US learned a bit about bureaucratic decisions, getting in the way of actual intelligent military decision in a place called vietnam. I recall, that congress appoints generals, if I'm not mistaken.
Also remember a man once, that smoked a corncob pipe. His decisions weren't appreciated by the current president...
now we got a place called North Korea.
So, I like the structure how it is.
