Here’s who I am in this game. I’m just a guy who found this website about three years ago and signed up out of boredom. I thought, “Hey this looks like a fun way to kill a little bit of time every day.” I never got involved in the politics, never sent requests to the government or asked for free handouts. I just toiled away in the background doing my own thing. I read articles every now and then, I am supremely loyal to the US, I’m well aware of the evil that is RGR and I certainly don’t spend any real money.
Recently I got an email from Oblige saying “Urgent & Time Sensitive.” The email tells me I need to leave whatever party I’m affiliated with and join a top five party to help block the AFA. In the past I’d do exactly that. I would follow the president’s orders because that’s what would be best for the country. Do you know what though?
I don’t care anymore…I do not care.
Ever since this workers tax has been created/raised it does me no good to work in my factories. It costs me money to do the same thing that I’ve been doing for three years. I guess I use to do it because I knew someday I would get ahead.
Back when there used to be currency exchanges I was into that aspect of the game and made a bunch of money doing it but the game changed and they shut that down. Then my only way to make money/gold was to work and to get medals. I thought, well that sucks, but I’ll get there eventually. Now you’ve taken away my right to work in the factories that I built from nothing. Sure I can work, sell everything I produce and make a tiny profit but what gives you the right to charge me to work in my own factories. You didn’t build them, you didn’t give me any help building them. I did it on my own with slow and plodding work and dedication.
I know I don’t create a lot of damage in battles. I know I’m not an important politician. I know I’m not even an important player in this game. But I also know that I’ve never asked you for anything and you’ve always asked me for help. Well you’ve now taken too much and I have no desire to help you anymore. I have no desire to help this country anymore. I have no desire to play this game anymore.
I’m just a foot soldier but I know I’m not the only one out there. I’m not the only one who is giving up on you, on this game. You need numbers now? Well too bad. You’ve alienated me. I was willing to let you run everything exactly the way you wanted. I was willing to follow every order you gave me. All you needed to do was give me a little bit of hope. Well you took that away and now you no longer have me.
Good luck knocking out the AFA, I hope it works but I’m not going to help you anymore.

Couldn't have said it better myself. I voted against the worker tax increase ... with my feet. I moved to Canada where their taxes are 1% across the board and they have decent resource bonuses.
Hey Oliver, many of us do not like the changes that Plato forces onto us, like this work-tax. He can influence the game as he wishes and he does it to generate more profit for the company; he can twist the markets or introduce silly tournaments, he can do whatever he wants with the game mechanics. But there is one thing he can't do and probably never will: tell you where to vote and for whom. So this is your choice only and you should not give that up.
I hope you will give this game another chance by experiencing the political module before you decide to leave it, because in my opinion it is the best that this game offers.
But Plato doesn't control the rate of those taxes. That's our esteemed politicians. And it's that rate of tax that is killing our ability to work in our own businesses. So enjoy the Gipper and his crew in Congress, because there'll be fewer of us around to help with the ATO. On the other hand, maybe Gipper will lower the tax rates.
And maybe he would hand us out to our enemies on a silver plate.

For what it's worth I agree and was opposed to doubling the work tax.
Amen! The tax was enough for me as well, i started this game as american to have fun. That passed since some time, so finding a new direction in another country with better bonuses and different people

Private donors have funded more than half of our efforts to free America from occupation. We have devastated the reserves at the same time.
If Americans aren't willing to bite the goddamn bullet to help fund the return of our core regions, then perhaps we deserve to be wiped.
So its our fault the gov wasted the cash they get from us already??? When people are broke playing this game they quit, do not blame them because this gov takes everything they can and give nothing in return!
and another thing, where the hell do you get off telling others to "Bite the goddamn bullet"???? Everyone outside the "powers to be" is broke, we don't fracking have 70k in our pocket right now!!!
First off, "Wasted"? We removed Serbia and Hungary, then stopped spending during the Epic Tournament because THAT would have been wasting it.
Second off, I'm not one of the "powers". I made my money my way, on my own, in incredibly unfavorable market conditions. I didn't have this money during the 25% work tax, and I found a way to survive and thrive.
I bite the bullet more than the average user and less than the average commune, regardless of how much I have or don't have.
Either be willing to pay for the liberation of America, or turn your back against this country and run to a Tax Haven. It's not that difficult.
How many people depend on your production to play this game talo? How many??? When people are broke they do not have a choice!!! Either figure that out or be a ass your choice, DO NOT SAY WE ARE TURNING OUR BACK BECAUSE WE'VE FOUGHT TOOTH AND NAIL TO SURVIVE!!!
We have helped with starting RW's, we have put our heart and soul into it. We've spent everything we had just trying to help. You accuse anyone of turning the back do it after you know that the frack you are talking about! GOT THAT???

If you're broke, supply a little less. You don't have to cut off your hand just to give someone else one. If you haven't thought of that, you're just banging your head against a wall rather than using it to survive.
Every Government-Sponsored RW has ended in a victory or repayment of all who helped start it, non-gov sponsored RW's have gotten 0 attention because they might have been opened in a strategically poor spot.
Nobody held a gun to your head and forced you to spend everything you've got. Fight smarter, not harder.
